Originally posted by ScottH Neither. He was 10 at StK. and wanted 10 at Hawks, but couldn't get it. So it is a natural assumption.
I thought the same thing. Evidently many kids at the family day wanted Spida's number at the face painting, but because it han't been confirmed yet, they couldn't paint it on anyones face.

I knew the numbers were allocated before Xmas ... but don't get their "official" presentation till March!!
Good to see Spida got the 10 he wanted. I hope the does the number justice for us. He's got big shoes to fill.
I'm glad they've let 14 rest. Save it for when we have one captain (or until Goodsey gets the brownlow again late 2007).
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
Despite BBBH being #1, Sydney in the modern era don't seem to run with the whole 'higher numbers being better' thing, and quite simply slot 'em all in wherever they fit. Three mainstays of the club are #s 31, 32 and 37, while a rookie is in single figures and a slightly rough late draft pick in the teens; that wouldn't happen at most other clubs.
The only guy in my memory to take a 'promotion' was Schneider... and it nearly backfired badly.

Malceski went from 40 to 9 last year, and that went pretty alright.

His next promotion will be to 14.

Originally posted by ScottH Doubt it. He has won 2 Charlies with #37 on his back, he won't change it now.
