A few other numbers of long-lost players that I don't think have been mentioned (with confidence):

    1- John Ironmonger
    9 - David Ackerley
    16 - Gary Frangalis
    19 - Anthony Daniher
    20 - Jamie Duursma
    22 - Craig Holden

Good old Franger eh, forgot all about him. Great fun in the outer with that one. You could just about mould a whole match of banter around that one.

Ert, if you go back through this thread you will up a few of those you are looking for.

P46's old man is pretty good on numbers. I will give him a call to get him on the trail.

            Wasn't it Greg Smith?

Yeah, it must have been Greg Smith. Ackerley was playing in the match I saw highlights of on The Winners With Flares tonight and he played with Greg and not Tony.

Greg Smith played 96 games from 1980-84
Tony Smith played 17 games from 1986-88

                Which one was it?

Duh, silly me - I already have Greg Smith for #8 - so I've answered my own question!

Also, I've been through the thread but some of the numbers have question marks next to them, and some overlap with each other (eg. I have Brad Tunbridge and Tony Begovich both down for #2 in the same year)

I'm sure Thripp wore 33. Could be wrong.

From memory Paul Hawke wore 34. Could play a bit as well, just quietly.

Ackerley, a great small defender, very classy and went on to Norths. He even won a b & f or came close I think/

These are off the lockers. I have a Kelly screen saver with a shot of him sitting in front of his locker, and you can see from 13 to 16.

These are the names that I haven't noticed in here yet.

Terry Thripp wore 12 early in his career then was delisted, and Daryn McAkesy (sp?) took no 12. When Terry was put back on the list again he took no 33.

If I fill in those last few gaps, I'll have a complete list from 1994-2004

                              Now I'm starting on 1986-93
Great trivia quiz Ert. I've lost all memory of a lot of them, but these are the ones I remember that no-one else has already mentioned.

Craig Davis 1988 - #60 (after retirement he's worked tirelessly in local footy)
Jim Edmond 1986 - #8 (was Footscray captain before coming up on Edelsten money, lasted a year then became a foundation Brisbane Bear)
                              Shane Fell 1990 - #23
Paul Hawke 1984-87, 1991 - He wore #17 on his first stint, not sure about his return year in 1991.
Peter Quirk 1987 - #20 (Sydney local who later did the Sydney-Melbourne ultra-marathon)
Brett Scott 1981-89 - #6 (coached for 2 disastrous weeks in 1993 after Buckenara got the boot before Barassi was appointed)
Jim Silvestro 1988 - #47 (little guy who wore a helmet)
Brad Tunbridge 1990-93 - #48 for the first 3 years, then wore #2 - big ruckman
Jim West 1992 - #20 (played every game that year, then never played again)

He definitely wore #34 in his first stint. Maybe he wore 17 in his second stint (did Luffy wear 34 that year?)
