I was one of them at the game with the headphones in... so i knew there was only seconds to go when Leo took the mark. No one else around me knew how long to go, i screamed its over... and the siren went... sat back on my chair and could breathe again, never felt so sick in my entire life!

Not to mention the superlatives that flew from my mouth when Judd was announced as the Norm Smith... picked on reputation and performance, not just performance... he played well, but they didnt win? So it obviously wasn't that good! Not like Buckley in the GF vs Brissy anyway... but thats another thread!

When Kel got up there i lost it... and am so proud to admit it, cried like a big girl!

There were some awesome tears in my place when we realised we had won - most notably from my 13 and 19 year old brothers - bless their committed little hearts.

My mobile didnt stop ringing for hours, I'd been building up all my non-AFL-interested mates so much so they had to phone and share the passion, even for a moment.

I still can't believe it. I was up at 4 this morning cos I had this dream that I'd dreamt the entire thing and I freaked out...so I got up and watched the replay. Still buzzing...happy to NEVER come down from this awesome high.

Sitting in the Cheer Squad and watching that ball coming down towards the goal, I was nearly throwing up, but I also had a radio and on MMM they were saying seconds to go, so as soon as Leaping Leo took the mark I was pretty sure we had it in the bag.

I didn't hear the siren, but on the radio they just said the word siren and we errupted in jubiliation.

Everyone hugged each other, I then ran to the next bay to find Dr J and his boy and we just hugged.

I was so happy I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, I was still very nervous even though it had finished and we won, my hands were still shaking, but I watched my friend do her gumby run down the street with the flag...

It has that effect on people.

Here is an excerpt from my blog:
The last quarter was incredibly stressful. Play ebbed and flowed, and with 28 minutes gone the Swans had a five point lead but the Eagles were on the attack. I kept looking at the time clock - how much time can there possibly be? The Eagles kicked the ball free in the forward line, the ball was rolling, rolling towards goal - then a Swan player saved the day. The Swans were now four points in front. Over 31 minutes gone now, godammit, how much time can there be remaining? Get the ball out of there! The Eagles managed to kick the ball into the forward line, a Swans player named Kirk marks the ball. Now it's over 32 minutes gone - how much time can there be left? Godammit, blow the siren! The ball gets kicked out of the Eagles forward line again, but the Swans don't get it very far, and the Eagles player Cox kicks the ball in to a pack of players from both sides about the same as the population of Tasmania. I saw the mark - I knew a Swan had marked it, but I didn't find out it was Leo Barry for two hours. The cheer that happened when the ball was marked was loud where I was, but it was followed two seconds later by a much louder cheer. It wasn't until I saw Swans players hugging on the ground that I realised the incredible truth - the siren had gone to end the game, and for the first time in 72 years, the Swans had won the premiership.

I admit to shedding a few tears, and I was by no means alone in this. Many Swans fans had suffered many years of disappointment, before this amazing season.

I made sure to commiserate with the Eagles fans in the vicinity. I also gave them one piece of advice: "Buy memberships", explaining that I felt the Eagles would be back in the Grand Final soon.

For a long time, I will remember where I was when I saw that legendary mark - Section Q21 of the MCG. Already there are photoshopped shots of that mark doing the rounds of the net, with the ball replaced by the premiership cup. It is entirely apt, for it was the mark that decided the premiership. Leo Barry has entered football history for a single piece of play that decided a premiership. No matter what else he does with his career, it will be that single mark for which he will be best remembered long after he retires.

Strange as it may seem the immediate reaction was the same as when we win any close game. Thank goodness we won.

But of course the next immediate reaction about a second later was strewth we've won the flag.

My text to my wife simply said "oh ***t."

Disbelief. Still can't believe it's true.

I nearly knocked out a friend with a stray elbow as I jumped up and down like an idiot. We still can't decide if it was in play or behind play.

I was at the match. I don't think I can adequately describe the feeling of being there, surrounded by so many fellow fans, as we realised that the Swans had done it.

We've not been waiting as long as others; we adopted the Swans when we migrated here just over two years ago, so to be part of this so soon is absolutely amazing. It's come in the same week that my citizenship application was accepted, so I was really hoping to have the big celebration to follow the little one.

When I was in the UK, I only ever followed international soccer, and that not with a passion. But in the Swans, I've found my passion: the greatest team in the best code in the country I can proudly call my own (soon, anyway).

We got up at 4am Saturday to fly out of Canberra for our first weekend in Melbourne, so by the end of the match we didn't have energy for much more than a quite meal in front of a replay; perhaps that's why I've got more voice than I had after the semi-final two weeks ago.

It was great the way that Melbourne seemed to be behind us; at least 50% of the people not in supporters gear said GO THE SWANNIES as we walked to the MCG. On our way back I carried my NOT SO UGLY NOW!! placard; I think I'll save it for the start of next season too. Definitely looking forward to that!!

I told you all that this year would be our year because it's the year 2005!
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Hey just got back from melbourne.

i was literally sick, not really disgusting but my mind was running wild, they were bombing it in and im just thinking they are gonna steal a win somehow, i think i almost couldve vomited about 5 times in that quarter, all the chances we had too put them away

and mick have a fkn kick! geez he was breaking my heart, got the wobbles and shiz.

we were all screaming "blow the fkn siren!" for about 2 minutes
and i saw the last bomb of the game going and the gigantic pack, and i thought thats it its over. then when leo took that amazing grab it was almost a feeling of relief not excited.

I was pretty sedate for about 3 hours after didn't really hit me that we had one, almost expecting we had one. Until a few beers later and someone said 'Swans Premiers 05' and i think all next year we will be called the reigning premiers and it just brought a tear too my eye

then i heard the tigers got up in the NRL and partyed even harder

                          god im so spent.

I started yelling it at about the 7 minute-mark, but I was at the Aussie Rules Social Club, not the ground.

silly me sat in the middle of the bay and I would estimate I made about 8 trips to the loos during the game.

boy was I anxious and nervous.
