If he hadn't said that , he wouldn't have got a game...that's how fickle and untrustworthy Collingwood people are....ie we won't play you this year as you are uncontracted for next year!!!!!!

What a bunch of no hopers (from a humanity point of view - they go alright on the field)

He did give a definite answer "I'll decide at the end of the season." Eddie decided to humiliate, bully and generally do everything in his power to belittle Davis into siging early in the season. Davis had two choices suggest that he will stay "if conditions are right," or not play for the year.

You are an idiot JN. Piss Off unless you have something constructive to add to the debate about football.

Jason, as WE'VE said numerous times and YOU dont seem/want to understand.

Davis DID say what Buckley said in '96 but that was not good enough for Eddie (spit) and MM. Eddie (spit) hung him out to dry with a veiled general speech about wanting only people who will commit to Collingwood whilst another of the various media outlets with which Eddie (spit) has a finger in the pie (pun intended) reports that Davis does not want to re-sign at this stage, just so Nick is under no illusions that the reference is meant for him.

Remember in '96 that Buckley didn't have to look Eddie (spit) and MM in the eye. He only had to look at Tony UnShaw. God knows how he managed to keep a straight face!!!

How do you know? Never was Nick's position in the field questioned.

"If" being the operative word. Many players have come out midseason and said they won't make a decision until the end of the year. As a result they hadn't been dropped.

Scott Burns had exactly the same problem at the end of 01. He was being sought by Adelaide (as he comes from SA) and was out of contract.

He said I'll make a decision at the end of the year. Shock horror, he didn't get dropped!

What part of " HE DID ", don't you understand ?

He did say he would be making his decision at the end of the season, thats exactly what made Steady Eddie, launch the public bullying campaign .

I was there, that's how I know . Is that good enough for you ?

I've grown tired of trying to explain in a mature manner, exactly what happened . Now its come down to one of two things . Either you're completely stupid , or you're just too one eyed to see that your precious CFC ( vomit ) , just might have acted in a self destructive - underhanded fashion . You choose ....

Are you so gullible that you believe, that a person about to play in an important game such as Saturday night - really gives a flying fig about what some mentally impaired moron in the crowd , writes on a bit of bed sheet ?

You know the most pathetic thing I saw on Saturday night ?
We went down to meet up to get out of there, and here were these two C'Wood supporters, who'd sat near us, and hurled abuse at Nick all night . You know what they were waiting there for ?

They were waiting for him ...

To get his AUTOGRAPH , how sad . A bit lacking in the Magpie commitment area , wouldn't you say ?

You better take this information straight back to Magpie HQ . There seems to be more than one TRAITOR .

McGuire is smart enough to realise that Presidents have no right to effect onfield selection for games.

The threat to Davis only came after the season finished and when his management wouldn't even talk to Collingwood. This was after his management (and Nick) came out during the year and said he would stay.

If Davis had made a concrete decision and was honest to his employer, there would be no bad blood.

Davis selection was never hindered on the field.

oooh, my name is Jason Nevins and I live in my own little world of black and white wonder; where Eddie is god and Bucks is my wife.

                      /end Homer voice.

Now Jason, I think you've gotta get a grip mate. Eddie McGuire came out on the footy show midway through the season and laid the cards on the table to ND. And I'll paraphrase... "Nick Davis do you want to play for our club or not? We do not want people on our list who are not committed to bringing success to Collingwood." Now that's a fair enough statement to have been made face to face in private, but on National television!?!

What's he supposed to say?... "Nah Eddie I don't want to be at Collingwood next year?" Do you think he would have got another game having said that? He was just looking after his own bread and butter by not giving Collingwood an answer, and rightly so. The only malice that has come out of this deal is from sooky sooky wah wahs like yourself and thousands of other Collingwood supporters. Believe what you want in your own little world, but don't spread your BS in reality.

I know for a fact what he said at VP the day after the GF, and it certainly wasn't "I'll be playing for Collingwood next year".

Lizz never "stated" such a thing. (But I just did)

You really do live in your own la la land don't you Jason. People are starting to say things that you want them to say. Therapy might be on the cards for you my friend.

Therapy? No mate, watching us win week in week out is soothing enough for the mind.

As I've said before, I've moved on. I still think Davis is a great player and I knew he was pretty much gone after the GF. I stated in this thread there are no hard feelings, which you don't seem to understand.

But nothing hides the fact that Nick Davis wasn't honest in his dealings with the CFC. Dispute how you wan't, but that's why so many Collingwood fans are bitter about him. (btw, not this one!).

If you can't see that not having the backbone to look at someone in the eye and giving them a concrete answer isn't dishonest, then you may be the one in need of "therapy".

Maybe Nick is such a magnaminous person, that in his generosity, put his credibility on the line by saying he wanted to stay at Collingwood, and thus hope that Collingwood would get a much better deal for him? Nah this wouldn't be a possibility in your world would it Jason? You'd rather just go around spreading your lies and innuendo wouldn't you?

Right, we're just going around in circles here. Unless Nick Davis, Mick Malthouse, Eddie McGuire or the tooth fairy post on here and give us an accurate account of just what happened, we're all just guessing here. Let's move on.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....
