You either have it or you don't when it comes to knowing how to get the footy, delivery of the football and defending well when the opposition have the ball - no stats are required.

Alan Jeans won numerous flags with a simple three point philosphy about Australian Rules Football. That philosphy was we have the ball, the opposition have the ball and the ball is in dispute. Jeans believed if these three areas were won more than the opposition, then you would win. Pretty simple really - no Einstein theories there !!

And please don't go on about how Jeans had the teams, as Hawthorn didn't have high draft picks, a strong recruiting zone etc etc. Those players were moulded, with the exception of Leigh Matthews and Darren Jarman, into the Jeans way of playing simple accountable football.

Australian Rules Football is a basic game when broken down to it's purest forms and certainly doesn't need idiots like Rodney Eade and Terry Wallace coming in with there tactical beliefs.
