Yeah, and because we won Sheldon got the sack!

      hehehe JF_Bay22_SCG

Yep there was a time when if you did well at Saints you got the sack, just ask Alves, Sheldon and the Wakelins.

But those days are over and GT will be at the helm for a long time yet.

Oh, BTW all, "good luck" this week... only kidding, it'll be a great game and could go either way. Can't wait to see my fave - Goodes and his talents on display. Hopefully he's not too talented on Sunday

So nice when rival supporters come in here and wish us luck. Hope you can come back and congratulate us too !
I come back, head bowed, and offer congratulations to what was easily the better team.

The Swans were awesome - glad we wont meet you again (until the finals that is).

Good Luck for the rest of the season - and may all your injuries only require band-aids.

Yep me too, congrats on a great win. The Swans had the nessesary self belief from the first bounce AND an excellent game plan to boot. I hope we don't meet up at the SCG in any finals... providing we both make it that is

grant thomas and saints proved once again that pride comes before fall...

hopefully we'll have given their confidence a good knock that other teams can take advantage of this fact

and hopefully our boys will keep up the good work!!!!

I wonder if you've had it worse than I did last year? Went to the Hawthorn game at the SCG with my Hawks-supporting cousin. 10 hours on the train coming home! Thankfully, he didn't mention it that often.

It didn't really help that I'd been somewhat cocky about the result on the way up...

Good of the Saints fans to congratulate the Swans on their victory. My only complaint is that there wasn't a massive brawl as we haven't got a tenth of the publicity as the Essendon/Hawthorn match.

After the siren, they got in a line, arm in arm, and marched down to their supporters. In a game they were never meant to win, they came out and demolished a side that had beaten all comers at the scg for well over a year, something like 20 home games in a row. (I hope my memory serves me well on all this)

My dream for next sunday is seeing the swans team arm in arm marching around the boundary at about 4pm with 'Cheer Cheer' playing over the loudspeaker. Dirt, sweat, blood and a massive smile etched on every one of their faces.

                  Bring it on!
I hope you're happy Sharpie? It evolved just as you wanted it to - even if your memory of what happened in the past was a bit scrambled.

I think a lot of people should read through all the posts in this thread - especially the instigator - and maybe reassess. CTS - when are you next tipping against the Swans? This weekend - Port in SA is a big call?

Personally, I could never tip against the Swans. Firstly, I'm always optimistic that we'll put in a good showing. And secondly what if we lost - am I meant to be thinking "great, that's another tip I got right". Fortunately tipping the Swans is a great way to keep your averages up. Sometimes they go down but you'll be right at least two times out of three while we have the current coach and player group.

                    Yes, yes I am.

And now I want to beat Port again, coz if my memory serves me correctly that day 2 years ago at the SCG when Adam Heuskes pulled on a dress and kicked the winning goal after the siren for the win still haunts me at night!

Thanks Foreign much appreciated. Pretty proud of the way we played, came out all guns blazing and held on to it.

Good luck too for the rest of your season.

                      See you in the finals

And also to you AussierulesOK. I was being sincere when I said before that it was nice to have rival supporters being courteous !

Same here for the Saints. I hate having to tip the Magpies, then watching their game and .... cough, spit, cuss ... find myself barracking for them.... I'll go and wash my mouth out

j0lly, there was a huge betting plunge on the Swans just before the game... I'd say the body language of the Swans players tipped a few people off.
