I though J Bolton was good, but not great. He fought hard and did some things in patches. He played much the same as usual - had a lot of possessions yet didn't really give us a lot of drive. At least he was better than most of our other midfielders. Showed that he is a useful 2nd or 3rd midfielder.

That bump he wore and bounced up from was almost on par the Kirks(Pickett) bump last yr. Tuff stuff.

he had 2 contested possessions... he did get 5 clearances as well...

he was the ultimate receiver, 10 handball receives and 6 uncontested possessions

He certainly throws himself into packs with reckless abandon, so no one can question his courage, however he rarely gains an effective possession from that.

He gets a reasonable number of clearances, but, as I've noted before, they are not highly effective.

Interesting to watch the Brisbane game on Saturday and watch how their midfielders clear the ball from packs and contested situations. Much cleaner and far more effective.
