Our Clubs History Is Embarrassing

FFS, how many years do we have to wait for a premiership or even a victory in a pre-season cup. There can be no denying that our club's history is embarrassing.

I for one am sick of being told it will happen one day. Some of our most loyal fans have died waiting for that.

Also, for Roos to come out and say we are not taking the Wizard Cup seriously really pisses me off. How the **** are we supposed to attract new members when we bomb out first round of the pre-season? Real inspiring stuff Swans.

Get used to no more Wizard Cup FTA TV coverage at a decent hour Sydneysiders.

Bring on a second Sydney team and make this wannabe AFL team accountable. The sooner the better.

Yeah I agree. I wish we'd go all out to win the March Premiership. Don't worry about winter - preseason is SO much more important! Once people sign up for memberships, who cares what we do. But we've got to b good in Feb/March so they sign up! I'm sure we ALL agree.

I'd rather roosy not take the Wizard Cup seriously. personally i couldnt care less about it. I wouldnt be proud of winning a 'pre season' cup how pathetic does that sound. as soon as the premiership season starts every1 forgets who won the stupid pre season crap anyway.

You seriously think we'll win come September? FFS just look at our history. I'm certainly not confident going into this season. How about you?

I'll take anything at this stage and if that means a pre-seaon flag, so be it. As I said, our fans have already died waiting for a premiership in September.

Back to the pre-season, we don't deserve to have any supporters at the ground or watching on TV as our coach/team clearly doesn't give a ****. Why then should we as fans give a ****. Supporting this club ****ing drives me crazy.

Given that we still have a range of players, INCLUDING THIRTEEN OF OUR BEST TWENTY TWO on the sidelines recovering from injuries, or just still getting up to scratch, what do you expect? Do we go all out and get beaten, leaving our second-string guys physically hammered, down on confidence and basically not particularly flash replacements come April when they're really needed, or do we give them the time to go out, get a feel for playing in the top side for a bit, without leaving them for dead in Febraury, when it counts for jack all?

I know which I'd prefer.

That's the problem. Many Swans fans refrain from ever being critical. No wonder our history is such an embarrassment.

Of course we should try in the Wizard.

There is no evidence to suggest that those teams who do well in the pre season experience problems come end of season.
St Kilda won it last year, made the prelim final and absolutely trounced us in the semi. Didn't seem to do them any harm.

We should be trying to win it. It generates confidence, self belief and shows a hunger to win. The arguments about supporters are irrelevant.

We have one of the worst histories out of any sporting team in the world. We need to get rid of this second best is ok attitude.

I agree, piss off. It was just a trial game. Who cares who won. Sydney did well to come within 20 pts of beating a full strength Doggies team. Sydney can do without supporters like you Beaussie.

I was merely saying our clubs history no matter whether it be pre-season or September is embarrassing. What I'm trying to say goes further than the pre-seaon. I for one am sick of just making finals. Aren't you fed up with false promises of one day.

If you don't like my opinion, well fair enough. But please don't try and put the heavy on with words like "piss off" and "Sydney can do without supporters like you". Grow up wanker.
