Schauble did play in the reserves in the forwards. Saddington played but seemed to go off early. Fixter was injured we believe.

Roos just said on TV Ten - comedy capers - poor skills and poor decision making - looking very upset.
    Love those Swans

I noticed this as well. Basically we have no target to kick the ball to out of the defence.

And how was that farcical situation in the last quarter when our entire team was in D50 and we went running out and have no one to kick the ball to - lucky we were given a free.

I've been watching the flooding used by a lot of teams this year and I don't think it works. A reasonable team will still find targets and it is very difficult to rebound.

Well, Melbourne has a few injury worries and I think Davey may be asked to take a rest by the tribunal so all is not lost yet,

Seeing the mess Melbourne is in after their injuries and potential suspensions, and that we tend to win the games we expect to lose (and conversely...) I think we may actually win next week. Might be worth a bet. Doesn't change the medium to long term prognosis though.

Not only that, but the site has got today's game wrong. It shows Sydney's win not Adelaide's.

we got killed in the midfield. skill level was atrocious. Goodes and Dempster were OK.
Those two sitters in the last two minutes of the third were inexcusable though.

Leo played the worst game i have seen from him in some time, as did Tadgh. Those injuries are going to be telling in the next few weeks, especially with White coming up in the centrenext week.

I was very dissapointed today with the lack of effort by most players. I thought Dempster was good along with kirk and davis.
Others seemed to try but to no avail. Has the official diagnosis been made on ball?
The lesson this week has to be to stay accountable to many crows players got uncontested possesions going forward. All the pressure is then on Barry and co also kick the thing we sell ourselfs into trouble with to many handballs.

Anyway all is done now we have to forget it and move to next week.

I hope Maxfield is reported and suspended as he is hopeless and Roos doesn't have the guts to drop him. Maybe getting flogged will be the impetus for changes in personnel and the game plan. Something must be done. How much crap can we put up with?

Most of our players seemed flat-footed and slow, and the delivery was often woeful. Adelaide played like a team from a AFL footy state, while we did our usual pack-around-the-ball routine. They were faster, more skilful and more direct.

I think someone mentioned already how Adelaide players were constantly running free on the O'Reilly side - don't know why we couldn't mark up better. Once Willo went off, the midfield was in disarray and our kick-ins really need some work. Not enough talls up back and we just generally look like a mediocre side at the moment.

Jude played his heart out. Stewie at least kicked it long a few times (might get sighted on video evidence) and Dempster looked okay in patches.

Agree with most of what's been said - Charlie, NMW, Mike B and others. The loss of Willo was a huge factor, especially on a hot day, 22 ran 21 (and later 20) ragged. Umps made some odd decisions, but not a major factor. And we cannot continue covering up a back six that is undersized, despite their generally very good record. We are exposed against teams like Adelaide and the Kangas who park tall forwards in the 50. I think Leo's game is being ruined by having him cover the top forward.
As we were saying last year, we need a KP defender and at least one more GOOD midfielder.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

My summation which is fairly repetative because every time we get beaten it is for the same reasons.

Overuse of footy - The comedy when Nick Davis and 2 others were running on the far side on the TV. Adelaide just let them stuff it up and slowly coralled them, then we kacked ourselves and turned it over.

Barry and Kennelly kicking from defence was laughable. How Kennelly is allowed to kick out is beyond me.

Hall, M O'l, Goodes from set shots was despicable.

On the run shots under no pressure - woeful.

When we kicked long we had no crumbers. What is the point in kicking long to an unfit and tired O'loughlin.

Out of the centre was a flogging. If you can see the odd long shot replays on out of the centre all our players want to do is hang on or block opponents. The first reaction when the ball hits the ground should be go for the footy. Effectively we have probably 1 player going for the footy, and the opponents are a wake up so block him. I would suggest the winning margin is about the number of goals they got straight from the centre bounce without us touching it.

As mentioned by others no forward line pressure.

3 players who probably will never improve.

Matthews - his effort today was the pits. He ran around in circles, handballed to noone or stuffed it up, rarely kicked more than 20 metres, and more indictable, refused to be accountable for a man, was second to the ball and didn't chase. His time has come. He got a horrible run around by numerous opponents and I doubt if he came off the ground at all.

Bevan - Whatever stats he had in the first Q were all clangers. I don't care if he has heaps of guts, he has got nothing else. He can't keep his feet, continues to take on players rather than look for an option, sits on the ball (surely he knows the rule) kicks and handballs to opponents, and tackles crudely.

Buchanan - As hard and gutsy as he is, his disposable both hand and foot are poor. Is slow and gets caught too often. Doesn't crumb to tall forwards.

Our midfield gets trounced every week probably because those who are classed as midfielders are really taggers. So we only have BoltonJ (who played well) and Maxfield. Why play Davis there when he takes away from our goalkicking.

We were clearly out coached. Why?

Who was on McLeod? Why didn't some just tag him in our forward line. He had a free reign running off O'Keefe.

Why were Adelaide allowed for the whole match to have a "free" first kick from a kick out? Not once did we man up. Then the second kick went to a player who ran like hell to the far wing. It was nausiating. Then they ran like hell to the HFF. I guess we just flooded like sheep to the 30 metre defensive mark in the corridor, because I don't where else they could have got to. Our blokes were seen just jogging through the midfield.

Our last 6 minutes were a capitulation which is a real worry.

From what I saw Adelaide played us almost exactly as the Kangas did. Run hard, run our taggers off their feet because no one else will stand up.

Our win over Brisbane was put into perspective on Saturday by a team who is prepared to play young blokes and leave them there. We just recycle our ageing brigade.

Hats off to Davis, Boltons, Ablett and perhaps Dempster. I thought Hall played well but his miss was unforgiveable.

                              Goodes as an onballer please.
