This is why it s&*ts me when people make these crap threads like "It's just one loss" and "why so much negativity". This happens year after year and the only times it doesn't is when we are so crap it's just a blessing if we actually win a game!

GODDAMNIT! I cannot remember seeing such woeful footy for YEARS! I know we've been bad at times but oh my goodness.... I'm just thankful we weren't playing some seriously quality oppostion, because we would have been staring down the barrel off 100+ points if we had been! Whatever happened to the simple adage of kicking it long, and NOT passing to a bloke under pressure with a pansy-arsed handball that even the most skilled bloke in the league would have issues holding onto? URGH!

Roosey freely admits Willo is our best midfielder, but is that ANY excuse for all the players to turn into bloody teapots when he goes off injured? NO! They should be out there taking the bull by the horns and proving he might be good but he's got a challenge to be the best when he gets back!

And bloody Kennelly! Bloody hell, what sort of player chases his man and the ball from his own defensive 50 up to his attacking 50, watches the opposition run the ball out in a 3-on-1 situation and just runs AWAY from the contest? Where's the manning up? Helping out a teammate and being hungry for the ball?!

And what was with the fart-arseing up the brewongle wing for 90% of the match? All you people over on the O'reilly should be asking for some money back because the only action you saw was the ball whizzing past as adelaide moved it along from our forward 50 to theirs!

I am so damn angry at what I saw today! I have followed this team for 12 years now, and today was the first day in a long time, if ever, that I can recall being so furious at such a lousy display - they played with an arrogance they had no right to display and they just didn't want it enough! And they can't even blame the umpires - as bad as they were, they had NO bearing on the game at all because they were just so shocking!

      URGH!

And yes, I'll be back next week anyway, cheering loud and hard as usual... Just please, boys, make it worth all our whiles to be there?
Everything he said. Thank you for writing exactly how I feel about today's game.

I don't mind losing if we go down valiantly. In those cases, I think there's a reason to say "it's just one week".

But when we play like crap, there are few good performances, and our mental game appears non-existent, we definitely need to be asking questions.

I'm so absolutely disgusted with today's performance (and the one against the Roos)in Canberra, and the one agaist St Kilda in the finals last year, and the preliminary final against Brizzie the year before and the...well, you get the picture) that I'm going to change my signature icon. I'm sure no longer would Cressa want to be associated with this team of no-hopers (he's got his own team of no-hopers to worry about...wonder how Aker likes taking orders from Crezza? )
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

There were a few good performances today?

Concensus seems to be just the one - plus Williams is excused and possibly Dempster as well. Couple of others just about mustered pass marks but could hardly be described as "good".

Agree with everything that has been posted - I was just amazed how the likes of Barry, Kennelly & Matthews were so incapable of making a decision, its not like its the first time they have played the game.

the little league at half time was far more entertaining!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

True about his performance last year. I was thinking our 2003 forward line with Hall at FF and Schneider and O'Loughlin in the pockets was much more effective for the team. The problem this year is he is not getting the service from the midfield and therefore is getting marks too far away from goal. He is also too slow to cover backs running off him from the CHB position.

I agree, seeing Tiger and Leo lining up on Welsh and Perrie is stupid. Giving our two best attacking backmen these negative roles is a great way of eradicating our backline run while at the same time shortening their careers. If LRT wasn't injured then dropping him was a remarkably stupid decision!

I am sick of Barry Hall getting tag teamed every week.It has been happening for ages .Barry's direct man bodies/holds him often with his back to the play while the other player takes an easy mark or crumb.
Surely Roos should put someone on the forward line with a instructions to take this man out of play and for the midfielders to use him when his opponent sucks back onto Barry.
It is no use for a forward to run up the ground to help put numbers around the ball if the next kick is to a 2 on one contest.
                            Just my thoughts.

And another thing.Crouch's last two opponents have been BOG or very close to it.If he is getting towelled maybe he should be benched and an attacking midfielder should replace him.We are playing a man down if this continues to happen.

                              1) Neil Craig outcoached Roos.

Everytime we had a kickout, the crows manned up on both sides of our D50, knowing that we like to go the short kick into the pocket and then swith play to the other side. Whenever we tried to switch play, we didnt have the free sweeper to kick to. It shut our running game down completely.

                              2) We refused to man up all day.

It was clear from the very start, Adelaide just sat back waiting for us to hand it over in our F50, and then they charged up the O'Reilly wing with free men everywhere. Lazy, lazy, lazy.

                              3) I never appreciated how bad Spriggs' kicking skills were until yesterday. OMG, his foot skills are attrocious.

                              4) The swans have turned into Hawthorn circa 2002.

Far too many pretty surfer boys, with their long flowing golden locks, to be taken seriously. Get a bloody haircut.

                              5) SEAN DEMPSTER - 1 of the few positives.

How good was his run out of defense straight up the guts and without hesitation a massive 70m kick into the forward line. Beautiful to watch.

                              6) ROK and Bevan may have started pathetically, but they were two of the few that actually pulled their fingers out and desperately tried to get the ball moving our way in the 2nd half.

It's a bit of a worry, against Brisbane Ackers ran Crouch passed teammates who smacked Jared as he went passed. The same thing was happening this week, before every bounce Mcleod started at the back of the square next to their CHF who roughed up JAred as he tried to get on his McLeod.

It was good anti-tagger play, and worked especially well due to the absence of any big swans in the back half.
