HEY! Are you saying that next week I can not watch O'Keefe prance around, jogging on the spot with his long blond hair flowing in the summer air? He is like a wild stallion, untamable. I would hate to have to miss out on that experience next week. He is sooo beautiful.

The Hall at CHF experiment has failed and failed miserably. Get him forward, running out of the goal square on a lead with a crumbing forward in the pocket.

Given we have all had our go on how bad we were, we were still in this game with 6 minutes to go. What we have been good at in the past 2 years has been keeping the pressure on enough to win games.

Has this relentless style of play started to take affect on players like Kirk and Crouch. How long can bodies take this style.

Willo has lost a yard and Maxfield has lost 2 yards.

Bevan, Buchanan and Matthews lack pace.

Has the edge gone off, are we now too slow, regardless of our much lauded rebounding Barry and Kennelly.

Not sure how you reach that conclusion. He played predominantly at CHF last season and most would say it was his best year ever. I thought he played more of a FF role for most of today, with the odd foray up the wings (and one right to the Crows' goal line).

One problem - Fosdike picked up a very bad injury in reserves today. He wont be able to play for a while
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

I'd have him on one leg anyway.

Yeah, deja vu all over again...
Overuse of footy - The comedy when Nick Davis and 2 others were running on the far side on the TV. Adelaide just let them stuff it up and slowly coralled them, then we kacked ourselves and turned it over.
Yep - this is a joke. It goes back to what I was saying the other week. We don't seem to try to do anything constructive or decisive with it, but play keepings off instead, which we eventually stuff up.
Barry and Kennelly kicking from defence was laughable. How Kennelly is allowed to kick out is beyond me.
I've wondered that for years - he is terrible.
Hall, M O'l, Goodes from set shots was despicable.
Hall has struggled this year. Goodes has always been ordinary at set shots.
On the run shots under no pressure - woeful.

When we kicked long we had no crumbers. What is the point in kicking long to an unfit and tired O'loughlin.
We seem to struggle to rove packs in the forward line and keep it in when it gets there - comes out far too easily.
Out of the centre was a flogging. If you can see the odd long shot replays on out of the centre all our players want to do is hang on or block opponents.
Sums up our game 'plan' really - much greater focus on stopping the opponent than getting the ball.

Our midfield gets trounced every week probably because those who are classed as midfielders are really taggers. So we only have BoltonJ (who played well) and Maxfield.
                    As above.

Why play Davis there when he takes away from our goalkicking.
Yeah - Dermie commented that Davis can't kick goals when he has to run into the backline to assist the flood.

Who was on McLeod? Why didn't some just tag him in our forward line. He had a free reign running off O'Keefe.
That was hopeless. O'Keefe was never near him, McLeod killed us with his run off half back, and O'Keefe didn't make him pay.
Why were Adelaide allowed for the whole match to have a "free" first kick from a kick out? Not once did we man up. Then the second kick went to a player who ran like hell to the far wing. It was nausiating. Then they ran like hell to the HFF. I guess we just flooded like sheep to the 30 metre defensive mark in the corridor, because I don't where else they could have got to. Our blokes were seen just jogging through the midfield.
This is a problem I have with the flood. Allows the team to get the ball to their F50 without any pressure.

From what I saw Adelaide played us almost exactly as the Kangas did. Run hard, run our taggers off their feet because no one else will stand up.
Same as last year. Pressure the ball handler and stop the run - we have no answer.

I think we were in the game because Adelaide just aren't that good.

We have no genuine pace in our midfield and we don't really make up for it with good skills or football smarts.

Ok I'm posting my post-match rant here after deciding it is quite possibly the most suitable thread for it.

GODDAMNIT! I cannot remember seeing such woeful footy for YEARS! I know we've been bad at times but oh my goodness.... I'm just thankful we weren't playing some seriously quality oppostion, because we would have been staring down the barrel off 100+ points if we had been! Whatever happened to the simple adage of kicking it long, and NOT passing to a bloke under pressure with a pansy-arsed handball that even the most skilled bloke in the league would have issues holding onto? URGH!

Roosey freely admits Willo is our best midfielder, but is that ANY excuse for all the players to turn into bloody teapots when he goes off injured? NO! They should be out there taking the bull by the horns and proving he might be good but he's got a challenge to be the best when he gets back!

And bloody Kennelly! Bloody hell, what sort of player chases his man and the ball from his own defensive 50 up to his attacking 50, watches the opposition run the ball out in a 3-on-1 situation and just runs AWAY from the contest? Where's the manning up? Helping out a teammate and being hungry for the ball?!

And what was with the fart-arseing up the brewongle wing for 90% of the match? All you people over on the O'reilly should be asking for some money back because the only action you saw was the ball whizzing past as adelaide moved it along from our forward 50 to theirs!

I am so damn angry at what I saw today! I have followed this team for 12 years now, and today was the first day in a long time, if ever, that I can recall being so furious at such a lousy display - they played with an arrogance they had no right to display and they just didn't want it enough! And they can't even blame the umpires - as bad as they were, they had NO bearing on the game at all because they were just so shocking!

                        URGH!

And yes, I'll be back next week anyway, cheering loud and hard as usual... Just please, boys, make it worth all our whiles to be there?

No, that was the first bit of free flowing, attractive football we've had on that side of the ground for quite a while (perhaps since the 100+ point drubbing of the Roos a few years back when Robbie AhMat ran past us on his way to that goal). So, if we were going to ask for our money back, it would be about 3 seasons' worth!!!

                          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

It just goes to show how valuable willo is in the midfield. When he's there they seem to all know what to do, when he's not they lack direction. I don't think willo has to worry about a challenge when he comes back , lets hope for a speedy recovery.
