I respectfully suggest that the football department is desparately trying to do something about the way the team is playing at the moment. Right now it has nothing to do with tactics and everything to do with confidence and basic skills.

And what on earth is an "official supporter"? I'm a member - like the majority of other regulars on here. Don't we count as "official supporters"?

Well if you had looked at Roos's coaching track record at the time (IE- No track record !!!), you may have got a clue.

The whole of the club and supporters where hypnotised by the love of a favorite player who should not have been given the senior coaching position because he did not have the industry standed experience that is considerd mandatory to do so.

Who is at fault ?? His boss !!

Therfore I call for Colless to be sacked.

Otherwise the buck stopps with no one and the mediocrity continues on and on and on. Next year they almost make the finals again...... God please someone stand up and take this F' club by the scruff of the neck into the 21st century.

And to all you morons who have suggested that a Coach has questionable influence over tha fate of an AFL team : You really have absolutly no clue and for the good of the collective knowlage about the game, should immediatly stop posting on this board.

I think everyone is missing the point and the major reason for our current problems. Roos coaching is flawed, the football department needs major overhauling(no more jobs for the boys), the medical staff should probably be looked at as we seem to be unable to get and keep players fit but most importantly we do not have good players. Why? Partly lack of high draft picks but even if we have good selections we don't use them. The recruiting is at the base of all our woes! Why don't they sack Barham? Is he another mate of someone? It is not just a rough patch. The signs were there in the pre-season when we lost every game. It won't improve or suddenly they will find form and turn it around as some people think/hope. They are just not good enough. And the mediocrity of the place is pulling down those few players who do/did have some skills.

Couple of questions Liz:

1. Are we or aren't we a professional football outfit?

2. Have most of our players not racked up sufficient games to know otherwise? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but basic skills are learned on the training track and not on gameday are they not.

I think we've suffered so long I don't think it would hurt if we suffered a bit longer. I'd like to see what Roos can come up with throughout this season and the next. Can he come up with another game plan or is he a one-trick pony whose only 'success' came as a result of the honeymoon period of a new coach. Getting a new midfield coach in the meantime couldn't hurt though.

I think our game plan has something to do with it. The short kick, rapid handball, possession at all costs, never kick to a contest type of play is probably a certain part of the game plan. I think it has something to do with the players losing confidence (possibly a major cause). It has fallen down badly under pressure from the opposition and we don't have a backup, so the players have panicked and lost confidence.

Sack Administration for employing a coach without previous Senior credentials??

Then the Collingwood Board that hired MATTHEWS in 1990 should have been sacked (Oops that's right he won a Premiership with a team that at best was considered good/solid.

Perhaps even those who hired WILLIAMS at Port should be sacked - No previous experience. Then lets get onto SHEEDY in the early 1980s. PAGAN at the Kangaroos in the early 1990's - (ONLY junior and reserves experience). I could keep going but let's just say - WHAT A MISTAKE ALL THESE OTHER TEAMS MADE!!!

Also at the ludicrous assertions of preseason losses being a guide to the coming season - PLEASE have a look at the teams we put on the park for those games - CARLTON in the 1980s was always known to lose pre season games but definitely performed well in the season proper.

STOP having a go at people so early - are you sure the people who come in to replace them will do any better??

Finally which senior coach has ever listened to the media or Demetriou as to how the team should play???
