Colless has to go

A lot of people are calling for Paul Roos head, but I think the Swans administration have a lot to answer for.
Fancy employing a senior coach who has only studied under one coach in his life, never actualy coached any team to a premiership and never coached any team for even a whole season.

These guys are a most lax administration when you compare them to the top footballing administrations.

There is a lot more to running a successful football club than making sure that your corporate sponsors are on board.

Colless has had his time, he needs to hand over the reigns to somebody who actualy has some ideas about how this club might win a flag.

The board and the football department are separate areas of the club. The board looks at finances and running the club as an entity, the football club worry about the on-field issues. The board is the least of our worries at the moment - its the football department that is not performing at the moment.

Well if Roos does end up failing - perhaps the minority of fans claiming they influenced the decision to hire him could step aside........

When we took Roos, we had a choice of him or Wallace. I'm happy with that choice. But if Sheedy, Mathews, Pagan, or even Daniher or Malthouse, want to have a go up here, I tell Roos where to stick his "tempo football".

Roos isn't going to fail - he will change tactic or pull the team up.
I like all of you would like to see us win this year - but I think we need to change some of our players and obviously get some more tall or well built players.
Schneider, McVeigh and Spriggs are not strong enough.
My only comments in the negative.
Today's game is over and we look forward to the next and hope for a win.

Hope you are right, but I am seeing a rabble at the moment....

The players that could improve the immediate situation (Ball, Williams) are likely to be gone in the next year or so...

He has a lot of work to do, and this is his real chance to prove himself either way.

Have patience. He deliberately brought in the long list of Rookies this year to find exactly this. A lot of mature age players like Vogels who *should* fill the gap we currently have.

As for bringing in Sheedy (13th), Malthouse (15th) or even Mathews (11th), I'm not sure I understand why just yet. Its only fair to give a coach a fair go, and two years probably aint it.

Voices calling for Roos' head have been in the minority, at least on here, even amidst the current frustration.

Every club goes through a tough patch and the average supporter seems to have the memory span of a gnat. It ain't pretty at the moment and it's hard to see a way out of the slump but I'd be livid if the club didn't stick with Roos at the moment.

Look at Daniher, look at Thompson. Both have looked to be on the brink at times over the past 3 or 4 years, coaching teams that looked like a rabble. And both have created solid, exciting teams. Coaching isn't an easy job but I'm bemused how people who 12-18 months ago were hailing Roos as the Swans' saviour are so unsure of their convictions that they aren't prepared to wait and see whether he really has what it takes.

To be honest, I don't know just HOW MUCH impact a coach has. They certainly would influence the preparation and the mindset of some players, but they are not the ones kicking the ball, or tackling, or contesting the ruck.

Sadly I'm not sure there's any one single solution to our problems.. Sacking Colless, or sacking Roos, or dropping player x....Would be a nice easy solution, but I don't think that's it.

A whole lot of things have to go right for a club to win a premiership, and we're desperately lacking in many of those areas!

You are ascribing too much influence to a coach. I wouldn't have any of those old hacks. You cannot make "silk out of a sow's ears". Roos simply does not have the cattle. The gentlemen you mention would just cost an arm and leg simply because they have "reputation". Reputation won't do any good under these current circumsatnces.
