FWIW I hope LRT can be a Glass type of player.Very rarely beaten.
I think for comparison purposes it would be great to use Champion data as a way to measure the effectiveness of a players contribution to a team over their career.I don't think this is possible though.Simple stats such as kicks and handpasses are too misleading.

I've done that with another player compared with LRT on another thread. It turns out that LRT zombies shift focus from "that's not a fair comparison because player X has had more experience than LRT" to "stats don't tell the whole story". A waste of my time.

Meaning.. the stats of LRT and MM are similar.

Amazingly closer than what I thought they would be! If the Hyphen can get more marks and stop the silly disposal errors he makes each game then hopefully there will stop being 100's of posts about him.

Yeah, for LRT at 21 to equal MM at 27, all he needs do is get one more kick a quarter. Perhaps if Roos used him as a kickout target like MM is, problem solved.

Except that MM is probably the best spolier there is going around. Don't see LRT thumping spoils 20m back where the ball came from....

Yes, but look at what Vogels did with his time on the ground. Much better than LRT.

I didn't check. If you could get off your own arse and do the comparison, I wouldn't mind seeing the results, but as I said (if you actually read what I posted), it's a waste of my time.

That is definitely a role LRT should play but ATM he is probably used to drag an opposition tall away from where the kick is directed rather than contesting himself? I am not sure he is much of a contested mark - MM is a more solid unit.

I think you have - I was comparing Leppitsch with Presty. You were talking about LRT being a "great defender" and I was saying that I think we need more, hence the comparison between Presty, a great defender, and Leppitsch who is more.
The same people pumping vogels tyres were pumping LRT's tyres a year ago. Oh how fast they turn.
Firstly, I was not "pumping [his] tyres" and secondly from what I've seen Vogels looks like a more all-round accomplished player. I haven't said to dump LRT for good, I'd just like to see some other young bug guys get a go.

FWIW, I like to compare LRT to Mal Michael.
Bit hard as we don't know who he played on. But, he had 9.1 disposals and 2.4 marks per game against LRT's 5.6 and 1.5. Stats don't mean an awful lot though.

Anyway, Michael is a FB and LRT is meant to be a CHB. Why not compare to Rivers?

Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Comparisons to any decent player are unfair because LRT blah blah blah *yawn*.

Nah. We need a good, or great, defender who can negate the other teams primary CHF (or even FF on the SCG). With Leo Barry freed and Kennelly, Dempster and Craig Bolton hanging around the backs that gives us more than enough go forward.

However Hyphen has already been used going forward to some kind of effect so far this year (To force a tall defender on to him).

You lot are getting side tracked on LRT again. I thought all and sundry thought he did enough last week to warrant his place this week. So his selection is a dead issue. We all agree.

The question was has Vogels done enough to stay if Ball returns.
Its hard on him, but I think not. Is Vogels in our best 22? No. He has promise, but hasnt shown enough yet to even remain on the field for the entire game.

I like Vogels, wish him the best, but we still need to be pragmatic especially against a form team like the dogs.

I guess we can expect Jason Ball to be avaliable, but the dogs are a small side, and we may have an abundance of talls.

                              I'd say:
                              In: Ball
                              Out: Vogels (unlucky)

Put ball at FF, Mickey in the pocket, and bomb it long.
and then teach our blokes how to crumb a footy cressa was a legend at it love to have him back.
