Originally posted by GoBloods i personally think ben has a lot of courage.
So does Quentin, but I wouldn't pick him... then again, I wonder if he will fit in the no 4 guernsey...

Criticising a player's performance doesn't mean a small mind. If someone is paid very well to do something and does not do it satisfactorily, unsurprisingly they will be criticised.
,funny thing, coaching staff really don't read the negatives from RWO.
So?
As far as Benny is concerned, who really cares?
I'm guessing most of the supporters who complain...?!?
He is an honest and smart player with limited skills but is an essential part of the team and that is why he is picked as one of the best every week.
Smart? What makes him essential?
Clangers?maybe you can show me those from last weeks game. I thought he was ok and even strong at the breaks and corrageous in marking and tackling.
Clanger numbers were listed in the paper. He only took 2 marks.
He never lets his player get the ball
Generally he is a pretty decent defender - it's just best when he doesn't have too much of the ball.
and, if he indecisive, it is usually because there aint no one leading.
'Usually' is it? Others don't seem to have that problem as often as he does.
But the dills all see this on there micro sreens or from the wireless.
Or the people at the game...
Get over you guys and start looking for some positives.

next time i better write the posts as simple as the McDonald's advertising on the Big Mac and only use single syllable words.maybe we better simplify the game for some and only show it in slow motion.
Get over it and find another calf to slaughter.

Bad guys (well mainly right wing fascist bad guys) always wear the snappiest uniforms.
Reds wear boring colourless uniforms.

Maybe we should use you guys as trade bait for the Magpies site.
You truly have no idea. How about forming an opinion of your own, rather than virtually saying that the 'coaching panel must know what they're doing'. There are plenty of positives which have been discussed in other threads. Are we meant to ignore the negatives?
Benny Mathews courageous? Turn it up.

Thats harsh. Benjamin really is a courageous spear carrier IMHO. Mind you the unfortunate on the recieving end of his floaters also needs a ton of courage. He really caused the Captain to summon up all his considerable ticker to take one of his casualty ward specials a couple of games ago.
Originally posted by barry No one leads when Ball up Benny has the ball, because they are too busy manning up on their oponents to whom Benny will kick too.
Sometimes even the opposition CHB will make a lead to help Benny out.
If I was a forward I would be reluctant to lead when Benny has the ball, I know from past experience when poor users of the ball have it, you can make the lead and they kick it to your opponent and you end up looking bad. Turning your back and running to another spot as stupid as it seems is the way to go.
