Yes I believe the league can chose not to register players at a club if they decide it is not in the best interests of the game. An example would be if one club decided to pilfer another which is exactly where you are coming from. I think this rule was introduced back in the 70s after a major exodus. Maybe it was players from wests to campbelltown. I suspect though it definitely is not an iron clad rule and the league can choose to insert its authority here or not. Therefore a club can only complain if the league approves a big player movement. The league has its favourites and this would be one area this may be seen

Going by your post Spoiler, Steve Bird will be the new coach. Great move if they have got him as he has had plenty of success at Campbelltown & Balmain. Garner wouldnt be a loss at all if thats the case.

You have also hinted that Ed Wilson will be on his way to ECE, would that be his 4th club in as many years?

Pretty ordinary as we should try to enhance Sydney footy by development and introducing interstate players and not merely poach.

Withers is staying, Baker,Wilson are gone and Parker looks like heading back home from what he tells me but maybe Eagles have the money to keep him up here.... The Little Bird is back in town spoiler and will definately be a good replacement to continue the development of our young players after Garns.
