He will be a great pick up, good young kid too. Should be playing a higher level IMO

Be interesting to see how Bruesty goes. Fit and solid as @@@@, still kicking like a rugby league halfback though.

So odds wont be this year, and history is correct no doubt he will be doing best to change it but in all years he has been involved with losing gf teams they were great teams but lost as a result of average coaching imo.

Dunno, had about 40 there last night. 20 young blokes, 6 or so new recruits and then the rest of the 14 made up of 1sts and ressies. I haven't seen craigy but there's talk so who knows.

Think sado is gone. Sainy is in Canada but will be back for season start. Surely MG won't go round again but he's pushing 40 so that's expected.

However, I did see a 2009 premier division saints team photo up on our board. @@@@ it was an ordinary team. About half the team is either playing ressies or has dropped out because they weren't getting a run in ressies. Mudgee has completely turned the club around. I've only been involved in AFL for 3 years so don't know mudgee's record but he's completely changed the club.

I'd say saints will be top 3 again, but who knows if we win it. I'd say 5 recruits that I've seen who will play firsts, who knows what else is coming. Plus half of ressies has played premier over the years so should be a strong squad with lots of depth.

Just my opinion from a guy who struggles to make ressies and has only been watching afl for 3 years so don't take as gospel.

Oh and Tom Green will be a handy pick up. Brought his brother up and a few mates. Can shoot a basketball too Thomas Green Wins 5k with an Amazing Half Court Shot, Hawks v.s Taipans. - YouTube

Clearances have opened. Most clubs will keep their cards close to their chest until the season nearly starts; but there's some interesting names to come.

Firstly, it starts to feel like the footy season when Norris joins the forum - welcome to a new season Norris !
                  Give us ya best again.

Secondly...we did this same thing this time last year, but have a look at the "INCOMINGS" for the Bats - they've got a whole team (with bench players) in their 'pending arrivals' already. I watched them last season and they looked like they could have made finals - they'll be in my tips for big improvement this year.

Heard there might be a Giant change on the northern beaches?
Interesting in the middle of swans turf...

Not a good sign to see seven Balmain players leaving the sinking ship.

Suspect they will really struggle to put two teams on the park as they trek across the city to play in Marrickville

UTS have gone in early with their clearances - they've done well again. Seems that no-one moves to Sydney without the Bats knowing about it.
I tend to agree with you - they were a better team than their ladder position indicated last year, and troubled most of of the top teams.

Hey Mug, more names will be added to outbound clearance list.

Wests recruited Conway, Round, Lee-Steere plus about 4 more journeymen that are mates with these 3.

Eagles recruited Cass x 2. I can't argue with that, it makes sense for the Cass boys to go somewhere closer to home.

Incoming we have one big name that will have a huge impact on Div 1. Once we have ink on paper I can say who it is. Plus a few others that have returned now the old committee are out of the picture and some new recruits that are local to the area and have just moved from SA and QLD.

We're currently getting 20-25 training plus apologies from about 6 that get stuck at work or whatever. Last year and for most of the years before that we were getting 4-8 players to pre-season training. So I think we'll be ok to get two teams on the field each week.

Does this mean you are paying players?

How is the coaching situation coming along? Hally is not going to be a player coach is he? He has been at more clubs than Tiger Woods but good on him for coming full circle and back to the club to help out.
