No Juniors and Semi Rural? If you do some research you will see the Macarthur area is one of the fastest growing areas in Sydney.

I wouldn't say the last few years has been terribly kind to us being able to keep Juniors through that transition period either (Mac Giants etc...)

That said we have finally been given the green light to field our own 19's which is great as we get to keep some talent close to home and begin this new chapter.

Big plans afoot out this way with Council support, strong finances, expanding numbers, off field structure, local business interaction and best of all a strong culture which is the start of any long term success.

Rome wasn't built in a day and we will simply keep building!

Now I know that this makes sense and it's the whole idea of the third pathway option, plus if you wanted the NEAFL to work Sydney had to have at least three teams. haha you are clearly from North Shore mate we understand your problems but its time to move on and accept how things work these days.......or not?

Maybe not so obvious as you think. The fact is that the majority of the quality players playing there are playing at Camden because they DONT want to play Premier Division. If you ask the players that's what they will tell you. The committee may have grand plans of moving to Prems but the player's that are good enough don't and the other half of their senior squad are nowhere near that level. Will be interesting to see how their 19's go this season and beyond, especially as from what I hear they have taken the bulk of the junior clubs 17's team with the rest of them moving to a rival 17's club now just to get a game.

The amount of Junior's coming through is and always has been an issue. There's plenty of houses getting built between Camden and Leppington but if you actually look at who is moving into these you will notice that there is a lot of new Australians EG- Indian, chinese etc etc that not too many are into AFL, which is proven with the numbers currently playing with the Junior club.

You seem to have some inside knowledge of the situation Nuttsy.
Sounds as though you could be part of a disgruntled club that a lot of these Camden players have come from?
Think your priority should be to get your 19's team to play more than a hand full of games without a forfeit or they may make the same decision a lot of your former players have and jump ship.

Obviously your referring to C-Town but I know a lot of people at both clubs and some parents of kids at Camden Juniors Roo that's where the Knowledge comes from. Has nothing to do with being disgruntled, just putting forward some facts. From what I hear C-Towns 19's have plenty of numbers,appointed a good coach for 3 years, have been doing a lot of work with the junior clubs in their area the last few years and are very comfortable where they are at on that front.

Good luck to Camden but the Prem dream wont be as easy as everyone thinks.

The dates on those clearances were August/September 2015. To me that suggests they were probably cleared to play NEAFL as top-ups for the Swans reserves rather than Sydney Uni.

8.13 to 1.0 when i left just before 3/4 time.

Blacktown actually looked a handy running side but lacked the skills where as camden individually looked ok 1 on 1 and just sat 2 back and made it scrappy with their bigger bodies.

Either way going to be a few years or 10 great recruits for either to make PD.

What part of that assessment offends your sensibilities there petal?

Surely there will be a flow of elite junior talent to the Sydney Uni NEAFL side. I'm not even saying that is bad, if you'd actually take the time to read my considered views, it is natural and healthy that the kids at that level may wish to play at the highest level possible.

All I'm pointing out is that it created a natural pathway of elite talent into the Sydney Uni Football Club at the expense of going back into the other district clubs. And I'm saying that as that continues that it will create a pushdown effect of that talent into their lower grades.

Clearly great for Sydney Uni, perhaps not so great for the other clubs in Sydney that, unlike Sydney Uni, actually develop juniors.

Hey ho though, it's the Sydney Uni model in all their sports so why should AFL be an exception
