The Dogs were smart to schedule Pekay's game at BISP. Will undoubtedly be a sellout.

      Quotable quotes from Mug Punter...

"Oh dear, [Goannas] so so predictable....."

"Things still aren't real healthy in clubland away from the Unis and the Hills district are they?"

"It doesn't help of course that GWS are doing none of the development work they are meant to do but even given my contempt for them it's hard to blame them for Wests. I can't imagine that tatty old club of their makes much money but the land there would be worth a mint. Perhaps they could sell it for a few million, build some modest clubs rooms on Picken Oval and place the rest in a trust, a proper trust and not one they can raid when some megalomaniac comes in as coach promising the world and delivering an atlas....
Hard to see then lasting the season really...."

"It's just a bloodbath out west at grassroots level isn't it, not a great reflection on the battle for the hearts and minds that the AFL and their little golden club are meant to be waging. Sorry I forgot, they are too busy running clinics in Manly, you just couldn't make this stuff up could you?"

"Well [UNSW] that takes the biscuit as one of the dumber decisions in recent history, having a team from Kensington playing "home" games at Bankstown."

"At least with the Manly Giants tie up there was a bag of money involved"

"[K.E.] His record really does speak for itself doesn't it? And I'm sure that Wests' record will speak for itself as well this season too. It's really hard to chose between his unlosable GF at North Shore and later on at Wests"

Oh wow, Meat Head...sorry, make that "Mug Punter"....that's seven times in a row that you've bagged out our footy.
Steamboat says, "MP, you have been posting since 2009 and i am finding it hard to find a post that has not attacked,a player, coach ,club or committee or the game in general, why do you bother, i am sure you could find something better to do with your time."

And I think he's right. If you don't like our footy, then why not just go follow NRL or some other sport that might be more to your liking.

What's the big deal with PD clubs playing out of area ? It happens in the AFL and the NRL and there's no reason why it wouldn't happen in our footy too.
It's called 'ground rationalisation' and you need to get up with the programme that this is how things work now. It's especially necessary here in Sydney where there is such a shortage of AFL-suitable playing fields, thanks to the town planners of previous councils designing suburbs with cricket fields and soccer, league and union grounds in mind.
It's why the AFL has had to spend up big with BISP, Wills Oval, Gipps Road, Spotless, Kelso, Purser even, to get us some decent footy grounds.
And it's why the NSWACT AFL has had to move Matthew Graham to a dedicated position of trying to create improved facilities for our game.

sorry, no biscuit and no dumb decision here....it's called 'reality'.

You really are a retard aren't you, comparing the AFL and NRL to a local district based amateur competition.

That it's somehow ideal not playing in your area your club represents is idiotic and surefire way to lose you club's identity. I get some clubs have to do it, and I see why Sydney Uni needs to play at BISP (the NEAFL demands that type of venue) but that clubs should just play out of their catchment area and pretend it's all OK just proves what a peanut you are....

Has the AFL put money into Kelso to secure it for AFL use?

How on earth can UNSW traveling from Kensington to Blacktown for a lower division home game be ideal you idiot?

It may well be that this is all they could secure because Village Green is out of action but I suspect it is more a case of committee incompetence and lack of planning and possibly lack of NSWAFL support.

83338000 - that's the number you should ring to let the Sydney AFL know of your list of alternative AFL-suited football grounds in the Kensington area.
They will be waiting for your call, but remember to add "+612" as a prefix if you are ringing from another planet.

LOL, sorry I was meant to use your point to prove my point to justabaraker about the ridiculous scenario of you playing an away gane against UNSW at BLACKTOWN...

I can understand why it would appear I was calling you an idiot but I can assure you that was not my intention....

Understand that, and an equally crazy situation though to be fair Mac Uni wasn't too far away.

All I'm trying to say is that clubs playing that far away from their home area is ridiculous. The lower graders from UNSW are being made to travel 47.3 km for a home game. And somehow Juatabaraker thinks that is OK because the AFL have a stadium centralisation policy. Think about it, a guy is driving close to 100km to play a home game of footy in Sydney, that is simply an insane statistic.
And I might well compare the 47.3km that the students cover to the AFL distances that Mr Baraker quotes

                      Footscray to Etihad - 6.8km
                      Essendon to Etihad - 10.7km
                      Carlton to Etihad - 3.5km
St Kilda to Etihad - 7.3km
                      Collingwood to MCG - 2.5km
                      Richmond to MCG - 2.7km
                      Hawthorn to MCG - 7.3km
North Melbourne to Etihad - 2.2km

So, really his argument doesn't stack up does it when the longest trip that an AFL club makes is over four times shorter than what an UNSW players has to travel to get a game of fottball.

I like you attempt at humour, I know it's not your strong point but well done anyway.

I really don't think it is my role to find grounds closer than 47km for the students to play at to be honest but if they have the season they look like having, coming off a shocker in 2016 this will demonstrate their lack of organisation more than anything.

To be fair to the NSWAFL this really does look like a UNSW stuff up and it's

Splitting home games between Kelso & Blacktown is far from ideal for an Eastern Suburbs club. But when they can't use the Village Green this season, there's not many suitable options.

Gosford women's probably hold the travel record this year. They play Wollongong and Wollondilly once each during the season, both away matches. Total return trips for both about 680 km's.

And BISP is out of area for many Blacktown Magic players.
