Except when you are coaching at 9am in the morning! I hope the canteen has sunscreen and sun visors to sell!

Should be in top nick come round 1.
The oval looks absolutely stunning! The surface looks good (I'm sure I won't have a season ending ankle injury again there) and the white fence is a face lift on the previous fence!

Is it an optical illusion or does the new fence show that the playing surface at the southern end is gradually rising?
Still no draw up on the website. First game in 7 weeks. I would hate to be a junior club that shares their ground with the seniors waiting for the draw. How do they set their own draw so there's no clashes? I can only assume the draw was finalised last year but it's not important enough to put on line. I'll join Pekay and keep closer tabs on the BDAFL. The draw was up in a timely fashion and a new story here almost appears daily.

I heard somewhere the Southern End is 2m higher than the Northern, so a bit of a slope over the 150m or what ever it is. Could be incorrect, but def harder running south when doing 400's.

Too busy working out the timing of the future directions of the Sydney AFL. Seems like they have made 2 or 3 reports so far about making a report.

Andrew McConnell has put his name down for North Shore - you might be right Tom Wills.
And Lachlan Pryor is locked in back at North Shore- couldn't cope with life without the Super Coach at the Goannas I suppose.

If we reckon that Wests and the Uni Bulldogs might be looking good then Baulko may not have it all their own way.
              Good for the competition !

I'm hearing around the traps that there's been some good growth in numbers for the clubs with womens teams; on the back of AFLW. Which is good to see.
AFL Sydney were promoting the Giants v Freo AFLW game fairly heavily on their social media before Saturday. Good to see plenty of support for the local players - Macquarie Uni's Fridge Army under the scoreboard were a highlight.

And in women's footy, it's interesting to see Auburn & Penrith joining forces. A bit different to last year's Power Wolves; because there's still two teams. But Penrith & Auburn players will be mixed into the combined teams in Prems & Div 1.

Yup extra teams for ECE and NS in the womens, plus uni entering a second side.

Big questions for mine are Camden in div 1 and blacktown in 19s div 1. I think it was PK saying Camden would kill it.

ECE down to div 2 and 4, should be interesting.

The joint venture took many months of haggling with the league before approval. Both clubs, former fierce rivals, identified that they had players competing in their wrong division and the opportunity to form two teams, both of whom have recruited many new players to the game, gives players the opportunity to compete at their correct level. Last year was considered as a three team competition in Prems (UNSW, Newtown, Sydney Uni) and little success was achieved by Western Sydney clubs. Both Auburn and Penrith and Auburn both aim to have 2 teams and Under 18's within the next three years with the support of the Giants and Western Sydney University. Will be an interesting year indeed. Round 1 sees the JV play last years PD premiers, UNSW in both Divisions. Great to see new teams come on board. Pressure now on St George to bite the bullet and accept that there is a place for females playing footy.

Mate is was me that said Camden would kill it and I stand by it - they should make finals in a canter with their list and do well in the finals. Cant for the life of me see how Blacktown will be be competitive in Div 1 one 19s though.
