He didn't play particularly well there. And it really creates a gap in our midfield. Plus, it means we are matching Goodes on someone, instead of having the opposition worry about a matchup for him.

It's all well and good to say we need a full back but the reality of the situation is that there are none available.
What would happen if Jolly sustained a season long injury next season? We can't afford to risk Goodes in the ruck for a whole season so we would have to bank on Doyle making a huge improvement and one of two first year ruckmen being good enough to back him up.
If Leo, B2, LRT or Kennelly were to be injured we can rely on the fact that it's a hell of a lot easier to create a makeshift defender than it is to create a makeshift ruckman and Goodes can always go back to add height if needed.

Might give him a chance to learn where a goodforward would lead to etc
It's worth a shot, that was my point about it being easier to create a makeshift defender than a makeshift ruckman. Let's not forget where leapin' Leo started his career.

Yep no way I want to see LRT in the ruck again - dont mind if its in the back half on a weak ruckman but at the centre bounce he will get crunched by those giants
I reckon we need someone similar to Bally, jols already does some pretty descent tap work - so a big bodied ruckman would fit perfect - biglands would be great

About the same if we lost Schauble or Hall, we'd improvise and we may or may not get away with it, this year we got away with it brilliantly.

Where's the "shudder" emoticon?

I disagree, on two counts.
Firstly, we don't need a makeshift fullback (or full forward) we're already using them (Leo and MOL). We need a permanent one!
And secondly, makeshift ruckman (those that make a contest during those matches when your ruckman's tired or out injured) are two-a-penny.

I dunno about that, but I'd not be adverse to a JollyGoodes ruck combination in 2006. The circle has dropped the knee injury rate at centre bounces to zero so far.

. . . or at least none that RWO has been informed of by their respective clubs.

Surely getting a permant solution to a problem should be a higher priority than acquiring a makeshift solution to a problem (Jolly's season ending injury) that hasn't arisen?

How about a straight swap with Chambers.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Heard it on the evening news, and on MMM footy. He wants 2 yrs, Jeff said 1, and we all know Jeff gets what he wants. They offered Crawf 1 aswell, and he was happy with it.
