Most disappointing thing IMO was the leading. Perhaps the fwds didn't have any faith in midfield to hit a target, or they were too hot and tired. With all the blond hair, and inability hit a target in the Fwd50 I thought I was watching the Hawks.

It was ordinary all around the ground, frankly there wasn't anything good to comment on other than the weather was nice and the beers were cold.
Which, given that we only lost by 5 goals sounds quite promising.

gotta disagree with a lot of comment here.GRUNDY WILL NEVER BE AN AFL PLAYER.too slow, drops marks.thought vogels was effective, punched well.spriggs has not improved, gets the ball then either gets caught or sprays the kick.re ablett perhaps the reason he was caught with the ball was either trying to do too much on his own or because all the kids forgot to talk to him.of the new faces, laidlaw looks most likely, brabazon a goer, prior has some talent, jack maybe in about 3 yrs.MOORE AND MALCESKI ready when needed.
nice warm day at manuka.lots of red and white.

When Roos was interviewed briefly at 1/2 time, I got the impresssion he gave Donk a bit of a roasting, which may explain his improved efforts in the second half.

I thought it was an even tussle, but I too think he still needs to improve the accuracy of his disposal. It wasn't that long ago that he handballed at every opportunity rather than kicking, so he has improved markedly, but a bit more precision would not go amiss.

He also lacks nothing in confidence. Whether he debuts this year remains to be seen.

Dermie Brereton was suggesting he's slow, but I believe that's wrong. He's no McVeigh-like running machine but having seen a lot of him last year, he pace is quite acceptable over the first few metres in particular.

Doesn't he just have good hands. it really stuck out at the North Sydney game.

The game's been on Fox Footy all week and I haven't been able to sit through more than about ten minutes of it without getting bored at the standard of play and every player being called LRT.

I did admire Dermie giving LRT big compliments on how he played beautifully when his direct opponent took an easy mark. Even on the replay he talked him up about the way he put his left hand on his opponent to know where his was and judge the flight of the ball [footage shows LRT flailing uselessly at the ball as it passes over his head].

I initially thought he was talking about LRT at that stage too, but he was actually referring to Petrie.
