Me neither - 1996, 2006, 2014, 2016, 2022 and 2024 Grand Finals are in the never watch again list.

I've watched replays of 1996 and 2006, though not for a long, long time. Despite the losses, there was much to be proud of in those performances. Particularly 2006. We played our worst first half for the season - tentative, fumbly, error-riddled, and yet came out after half-time a different team, one prepared to take it right up to the Eagles. And we very nearly got there. That was a marked contrast to 2014, 2022 and 2024 where we simply capitulated.

2016 was a different script. I'd just get angry watching that again, and not just with (some of) the Swans players.

I think I got about halfway through both. Curiously, 2016 is much more strongly etched in my mind.

I've watched 2006 a few times and quite enjoyed it. A real tough fightback and at the time, I tended to think, that after all the close games between the clubs, then one premiership each was a fair result.

I don't recall watching 1996 all the way through, but a few years ago, a replay came up on a big screen while I was playing trivia. I remember the surprised looks passing between an AFL loving friend of mine and me, with a fair few comments along the lines of "was that legal, then!?"

Me too re 2016, and I figure because we were in it until near the end. My memory of 2022 and 2024 is almost instant deflation. I'll never watch 2022 or 2024 - what's to be gained? They were abject.

I had the best weekend ever prior to the 2016 GF

Skied an extra long weekend in Oz with all my old mates

30cms of powder dropped in Oz first weekend of October which is so rare

skied for 4 hours straight on GF day then showered and straight to the pub to watch the worst officiating of a GF ever plus a player selection which was a disaster

              so sad ?

Braeden Campbell has just signed a three year extension. Good news and I hope he gets to spend more time in the position that made him a high draft pick: an attacking outside mid.

Interesting early trade rumours starting to circulate with Freo sniffing Pickett from Melbourne, Brisbane with Oscar Allan WC & Geelong with Matt Rowell GC (do they have a salary cap)?

First 2 may have influence on Chad's decision, with Freo having no draft hand or cap space if they get Pickett. If WC lose Oscar Allan, on top of Barass's defection & looming battle to retain Reid, will severley impact their rebuild iunder a rookie coach.

BTW the goal against the Cats mid season where Macca pops one over the top to a flying Chad

its up there with the highest i have jumped from my seat when watching a game !!!!!

3mins in on the video / profile

the guy is a freak !!!!!

PS if we can find a spot for Warner Jnr in 2025 then negotiating with both will become interesting

Rookie Me are talking up our Max King as a possible number one pick. Which is a big wrap for someone who was out injured for much of last season: probably the result of a couple of concussions.

Highly rated Swans Academy member Max King is next in our Race to #1 series, possessing enormous upside as a freakishly athletic utility.

And just a reminder, due to the changed points system, if King gets taken high, that takes our other highly rated academy products, Carmichael and Chamberlain, off the table, unless we've picked up a couple of first round picks, through, say, trading Chad, or alternatively we go into massive deficit.

May as well go into deficit with the Tassie drafts coming up
