Agree when we play him on the biggest fwd but put him down back as the interceptor on the 3rd tall and let Others play tall

If we do end up losing Chad Warner to a WA club, I hope that Carmichael, Chamberlain and King would be good replacements.

West Coast have the draft picks to make a trade happen. Some talk about Fremantle being a possibility, but I don't see where they are getting their picks from.

Fewer draft points will be available due to last year's changes, which makes it harder to match bids. Sydney's not the only club scrambling for points. Brisbane already holds four third-round picks. Eight northern Academy players are likely to be drafted inside the first 25 picks (Gold Coast four, Sydney 3, Brisbane 1).

The following is from an AFL article about the Whitlock twins - drafted to North and Port

"Despite having moved different distances – Jack qualifying as an "interstate relocated player" and Matt as a "regional relocated player" – both can claim "reasonable" relocation costs through the CBA, and a living allowance of up to $16,500 for household items or living expenses, to be ticked off by their respective player development managers."

I suppose we get the same but I have never seen any reference to it

According to Tom Morris on FC tonight, Swans players now feel confident rather than hopeful that Chad will re-sign. Nothing concrete yet. Just increased optimism.

Perfect, beat Freo then Coxy to announce his signature at his parents house Monday morning, while he is on holiday in Perth for the break.

We may have solved our second small forward dilemma that we embarked on for nearly 5 years. Tom Hannily looks good. We now need to find a tall defender. And then a midfielder that can actually get the contested ball on the inside. Chad and Isaac are only the cherry on top if we can good inside midfielder. Hopefully sheldrick can rise in this game against Freo in that role

Contested possession is our glaring weakness. Not sure if our list at present provides any solution. Hope I'm wrong.

I also think Corey is developing nicely as a small forward/mid along with Caiden Cleary from his performances last year. Hopefully we're building a decent fleet of small forwards. When Mills is right, hoping he can fill that insider midfielder roll to help improve our contested ball, along with Sheldrick.

Riley Bice shows promise as a rebounding half back after his limited debut. Hoping he gets a full game this week. He and Blakey could develop into a dynamic duo tearing out of the backline, along with quick Wicks.

Looking from a half glass full perspective, despite our shaky start to the season can see some new green shoots which will give the team a new dynamic when we begin to gather steam under Coxy's new game plan and players returning from injury.

After the 2022 & 2024 GF disasters, we probably do need to take a step back to go 2 steps forward.

FWIW Tom Morris reckons the Swans players are increasingly confident that The Chad will re-sign. (Football Confidential )

Yep, at centre bounces our players go where the ball ain't.

Bice looked like a genuine replacement for Rampe.

Inside Trading discussed the benefits to the Swans of the axing of a draft rule. The Swans will be able to match bids on all Academy prospects this year regardless of finishing position, provided the club possesses the needed draft points.

Inside Trading, 19/3/25, section "Rule tweak could be King maker".

Apparently Leek Aleer extremely likely to leave the Giants at the end of the year. Given Rampe isn't getting much younger and our need for a key back surely we make a play for him?

Absolutely. Can really play, and just unfortunate to be stuck behind some quality key defenders.
