Yes of course. He has potential and played well tonight. He competes and is learning fast. We are desperate for talls.

I'd only bring in a fwd if we move on Amartey or Mclean or Ladhams
Can see us really getting screwed on Trade if we go down the fwd path for a guy that probably only 15 goals in front of what we have all things going well

We need picks for Academy and its clearly our last year where we get good access to them

We should, but will we is the question so much to play out in this space.

I’d like us to take a risk on JUH (while signing Buller) and then target all our energy on Jake Leaver (or similar)

With the media insisting we desperately need a quality KPF as our no. 1 priority in order to compete for flag, i somewhat disagree. The theory being getting someone like Curnow (which wil cost us big in trade capital and cap space) and then throwing excess KPF like Logan or Buller down back.

Whilst a Curnow will help improve us , there's no guarantee to suggest that reinventing a KPF as a KPD will be a success. Logan had stints last year down back without showing any real potential. But to be fair he wasn’t groomed in that role during the preseason.

I see Buller as having more upside as KPF. I don't see any of our KPFs realistically being the next Tom McCartin (i would like to be proven wrong!).

I think recruiting a quality KPD like a Lever or Leek Allir will help us rebound more strongly than a quality KPF. Getting both would be more than handy, but not sure if i would gamble on JUH, as I think ihe s too much of a risk and doesn't fit our no DH policy (if it still exists).

With Saints signing NAS for $2m and TDK coming over on $1.7m, i wonder they're still able to offer Leek Allir on the reported $900k to get him across?

Logan was a 22yr Old going at nearly 1.5gls a game without being the Key Target, there us your Full Fwd.

KPD should be the priority, Ladhams or Mclean may be surplus if we keep Buller.

Cox fwd structure is the biggest issue for this team
Our KPD vulnerability is the 2nd

Letting Hamling go hopefully insinuates we have someone coming in as KPD

I hope we retain Ladhams as backup or 2nd ruck to Grundy. As i'm not sure if Green has developed enough yet.

I do agree however if we do get a Curnow, we're more likely to put either of Armatey, Logan or McLean on the trade table in order to bring in a KPD like a Lever. It would be a aggresive move. Melbourne have longed for a decent KPF.

Its going to be a tough pre-season cleanout. Who do we delist? Mitchell/Edwards/Fox/Hamling/Francis ? Do we give Rampe and Lylod another year ?Do we trade Florent?

I love Fox but the fact is he has just missed a season. At best we keep 1 of him or Ramps, not because they can't still play but because history tells us then chances of them being available are slim.

Francis and Hamling have served there purpose, no point renewing

I hope Lloyd is overtaken by Warner, Cleary or Bice plus Draftees.Been great but he is a guy that could run into space and gather possessions until he is 40 without being damaging. His spot stops us playing others, he should leave for a 2yr deal

                      Not sure Mitchell and Edwardes

We can take discussion about delisting Edwards off the table. He’s signed till the end of 2027.

What about Silvagni, costs nothing in Picks just Money ?
28 next year, 4yrs at 700 is the best your gonna get for a KPD

I tend to lean towards a KPD over a KPF. Premiership teams have elite defences, and right now we have McCartin and Melican and that’s it. Rampe doesn’t play on true talls any more, none of us want Blakey pinned down and while the club clearly has hopes for Snell and Edwards, they’ve done nothing yet.

Right now, McCartin is both having to play on the best key forward and be our best intercept mark. He does it brilliantly. But he needs friends. I’m open to the Lever argument for that reason. It’d give us good cover and flexibility in how we use the three talls depending on match ups, he’s a high IQ player, still only 29, let Blakey play more as a true running half back or even wing. The other side benefit would be pushing Mills back to the midfield, where I’d personally prefer to see him.

A back seven of Tom, Melican, Lever, Blakey, Ramps, Wicks and Harry - or some variation of - looks more solid to me. It’d also make the transition from Rampe, who currently provides a lot of on field direction, easier.

Think we would love him, doubt he’d have any interest in moving North

and this is the problem we have when players are weighing up another Melbourne club or us - moving interstate and uprooting family comes a distant second to just driving to a different Melbourne suburb to train.
