Agree with last 2 posts. There is no way I would take that risk on a bloke his age (not saying he is old but he is not young). Also, his output has not been high enough for 3 1st round picks. But yes, Geelong will need to add something else I reckon.Comment

I hope we terminate our interest in Curnow unless Carlton suddenly decide they will take something more modest to be rid of him?
I'm wondering if despite all the loud bluster, Saints are actually running out of cap space? They are trying to push Steele out the door but he's not going LOLComment

There's first rounders and there's first rounders of course. Geelong offering three 20+ picks over three drafts, the last of which will have Tasmania concessions, unless the stadium doesn't get approved!

This means Geelong can table THREE first-round picks for Curnow. Without this change, Geelong would only have been able to table ONE because they used only two first-round picks in the past four years.

At least St Kilda have a salary cap. Geelong's salary sombrero is getting wider every year if they can take Curnow and Smith without any signs of filling that giant cap."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I wouldn't rule it out though. I could see Sydney doing more deals with Gold Coast in the future."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Now the Curnow Dream is over, let's see who else is out there for us to target. One key forward who spent most of last season out due to injury is Lewis from the Hawks. The Hawks forward line is now packed and it might be an opportunity to target Lewis. Young, very good key forward and is hungry to get back to licking goals. Would be interesting to see if Hawks see Lewis as expendibleComment

To be honest if the rumours are true our best offer probably trumps Geelongs current offer, I just praying it shows Geelong has a stronger desire than we do to get a deal done ? wonder if there is any substance about trading Rowbottom that’s a deal I’d love to explore, unlikely I know but I’d be prepared to eplore it (don’t hate him or anything, just think we have others who could improve us in the middle)Comment

If Sydney don't come out and say we are out of the Curnow race after he selected Geelong and their offer, then this bloke Keane is dumber than KB.
Go get Aleer to make up for the mistake of trading Alir, he is exactly what we needComment

Could see Rowy, Mclean and a Fringe HFF be used in trade but not to upset thw apple cart.

Cannot see why we can't recruit both Aleer & Serong if we pull out of chasing Curnow. Serong has shown versatility of also able to play forward. Both provide KPD depth. Makes Hamling's extension look obsolete if we did.
I'm lukewarm on Curnow & not fussed if he nominates Geelong with their 3 x 1st round picks. I'm bullish on Logan returning in beast mode ala Riley Thiltorpe this year.👍 1Comment

I'd much rather get Aleer than Curnow. Curnow costs too much and I think we can make do with the KPFs we have. AFL is no longer a power KPF game - especially when it comes finals. Theyre a distraction and money sink. It's about intercept defenders, high pressure small forwards and goal kicking midfielders. KPFs just need to provide structure and competeComment
