Out of interest, as I haven't watched as much ressies this year, how is Snell going? I know he had a rough patch mid season, but with McCartin likely out for a few weeks and the club having a good opinion of Snell going into the season, he's got to be a shot at a debut. Think the three talls down back helps release the Lizard.

was thinking the same thing this wknd re Snell and playing the FB role

      Datolli
      Snell
      Riak
      Bowman
      Hanily
      Green
      Cleary

All our emerging players starting to get back into game time and some out of long term injury recovery phase

Will be interesting to get to the next Sydney game to watch the Ressies

I think he played his best game of the season yesterday, albeit it was his intercepting, rather than one-on-one defending that caught my eye. In very challenging conditions (very strong breeze favouring one end), his disposal was also reasonably good.

For the brave or masochistic ones among us, this is the team for Saturday's match against North: which takes place at 12.05pm at Tramway.

          B: B. Paton (25), R. Andrew (20), C. Mitchell (35)
          HB: B. Leidler (32), P. Snell (41), A. Francis (10)
          C: I. Kirk (31), O. Florent (13), B. Edwards (50)
          HF: J. Dattoli (18), M. King (67), T. Hanily (40)
          F: N. Bowman (23), R. Fox (42), K. McNamara (59)
          R: W. Green (45), C. Cleary (33), C. Warner (37)
          INT: T. Forrest (58), M. Lloyd (51), N. Shipley (52), O. Davis (63), J. Kluske (47)
          23rd Player: M. King (67)
          EMG: A. Hanrahan (53), T. Ryan (66), P. Roseby (54)

          IN: T. Forrest, R. Fox, A. Francis, M. King, K. McNamara
OUT: P. Ladhams (AFL), M. Geddes (shoulder), A. Hanrahan, T. Ryan, W. Smit (omitted)
NEW: Tom Forrest, 19, 189cm, Corowa Rutherglen; Kaiden McNamara, 18, 186cm, Sydney Swans Academy/Terrigal Avoca

Nice to see McNamara from this year's academy cohort get a VFL debut, while King gets another go. Not sure who Forrest is, but I don't think he's been through the academy? Don't know who's going to ruck if Green needs a spell? Maybe Andrew?

With Xerri out suspended, and both Coleman Jones and Teakle playing AFL, maybe the Norf VFL team doesn't have much in the way of rucks left for the VFL squad. So maybe the coaches will agree to have two midgets face each other as second ruck.

They could have half their team out and it would make no difference. one point in front in the last quarter and a side that has one game for the year kicks 10 goals in a quarter and the team called the Sydney Swans decides to give up. They must have zero respect for McVeigh's coaching.

Our back half are all AFL listed players, some with experience. How well will they do? I'm particularly keen to see how Snell and Andrew go.

I presume that there's some story, as to why they've positioned the cameras behind a couple of tents, but if they want anyone to watch the coverage, then there probably should be vision of more than one third of the ground.

Looks like someone has managed to climb the cherry picker and we're back to normal.

North have scored 50 points in the first quarter. Another disgraceful effort by Jarrad Mcveigh and the SYDNEY clowns. Its so hard to watch.

Yes - back to normal, Swans being thumped in the VFL :-(
Q1 3.2 v 8.5 for anyone not watching. Somehow North score everytime they go into their F50, our defence looks chaotic. Though to be fair North are applying lots of pressure. And watching Paton deliver a couple of egregious turn-overs isn't doing my blood pressure any good.

Much better second quarter, but still behind 62-47 at the half. Cleary got on top around the contests and provided plenty of drive. Warner was responsible for much of our better ball movement. Dattoli looks dangerous whenever he goes near the ball. The defence looked more organised once Fox came on after quarter time.

So I watched a stream of the first quarter through gritted eyes and then switched off, part in annoyance, in part to get ready to head out to the SCG. Now on the bus and I see the Swans put in a bit of a better effort in the second quarter. I’d been planning on a side trip on my way to the SCG? But should I instead head to Tramway to catch the final quarter?

When Paton stops and considers his options, it's probably odds on, that he'll kick it to the largest and strongest opposition player in the vicinity.

So much better that quarter. Defence looking more organised with Fox down there. Snell looking solid and Bowman has picked off some execllent intercepts.
Cleary and Corey Warner providing much more drive out of the centre, Datoli and Hanily lively in attack.
