1 vote Edwards - solid and a long kick to clear the 50, could have been McLean who displayed strong hands and a solid set shot

Bowman, Hamling & Cootee looked good in patches. Kyle, Hetherton & Phillipou were quiet, but showed glimpses.
I'm a big Clearly fan, and while he was hard working across all 4 quarters, his disposal and decision making were just off today.
Hanily had a game to forget
Yes I must say I forgot to mention Dattoli in my comments I agree with your votes but would change Edwards with Hamling. (I do hope Edwards get a change at senior level before we delist him his leg his a real weapon)

Hamling was excellent yesterday when playing in defence for the first half and turned the game in the third quarter with 3 quick goals.
Agree with your comments on Edwards, he struggled earlier in the game but lifted significantly in the second half. Certainly worth persevering with.
One thing that is noticeable is the difference experienced players make in the VFL team. Hamling and McLean stood out in this regard

When we get an injury in our defence we should promote one of these boys. At some stage we have to expose them to the big time. I would rather keep Serong playing on the wing as he covers heaps of ground and gets back to support the defence.

The VFL has a bye this week due to a state of origin match. All the SANFL teams have a bye as well.

The match details are here: West End State Team to confront VFL in Gather Round (sanfl.com.au)
