SCG is the heart and soul of where the Sydney Swans are, just hope it doesn't become like Lakeside..

It's about time we fixed the stands and if it means more bums on seats why not..? Maybe one day they'll make it big enough so we don't have to go over to Telstra lol (but then we'd also have to make SCG grounds bigger too..)

      That would do nicely.

This "makeover" is a complete waste of time if they dont also get rid of the Members, Ladies, Bradman and Noble stands - not to mention making the ground longer.

They also need to address the crap access to the joint. A light rail from central would be good for starters...

From what I hear (this may be wrong mind you) the Swans are actually paid by the SCG Trust to stay there, with the new training facility & oval across the road a sweetener to try ad get them to stay put.

I have long standing grievances about the SCG Trust and their attitude to both AFL & the configeration of the ground ("a perfect purpose built facility for cricket") so I will admit I have a vested interest.

I dont care that the Trust have been dragged screaming to get this done. The facilties (or lack thereof) on the hill are a DISGRACE!

A new grandstand behind the goals could give the Cheer Squad a complete new lease of life too. Because can have a drink and sit behind us and join in the cheers (a la Homebush). We make a racket out there as well as at the Gabba.

The more our ground looks and feels like the Gabba, the happier I'll be.

Hopefully they will build the ground a little longer.

The SWANNIES have a better record at Telstra Stadium than they do at the SCG since they started playing games there. Something you'd be aware of if you bothered to pull your head out of your bum and joined us chardonnay swillers up here for a game now and then.

                  GO THE SWANNIES

After 20 years of support I will call them what I damm well please. By the way I drink VB and don't like wine. Throws your stereotype out the door doesn't it.

You seriously don't get up here much if you think Sydneysiders don't drink VB.

cruiser mayb you should pull your head out of your own beach BUM the only reason swans have better record at ts is they have played bugger all games there compared to scg think about .of course % are going to be different they have played 200 odd games at scg compared to mayb 10 or so at ts.

Ignorant comment mate. The SCG is flood-central. It is only 148 metres long, so teams defending can push back heaps more easily than they can at a longer venue such as Homebush.

Our strength this season has been our fast rebounding out of half back. We are playing a direct skilful type of footy this year & only resort to chipping it around when opponents resort to flooding and not manning up to stop the bleeding on the scoreboard.

It would be ideal for our home ground to be bigger. I actually think our game these days is suited to Homebush as opposed to the SCG.
