His tackling technique needs some work but at least he's vigorous, strong and probably only a couple of tweaks away from being a very effective tackler.

His kicking has been much maligned but I think it is more "inconsistent" than "bad". His good kicks have more penetration than most of Kirk's, for instance. I realise that Kirk is hardly the poster boy for AFL kicking but his is good enough to get by. Bevan's could be - and probably will be - much better.

His is also deceptively quick. Schneider would probably beat him in a footrace over 50m or so but I doubt it would be by that much.

No-one is claiming him to be the next Judd but he's got a lot more going for him than most give him credit for. I think his main challenge is to believe himself that he's an AFL player because most of last year he just seemed to have lost confidence.
Some valid points and balanced comments but I'm still far from convinced. He looks to me like your classic fringe player - handy depth but never threatening to be a topliner.

I wrote a little bit in the "newbies" thread.

Basically the only standout performance IMO was Richards.

I'm going to have a look at the stats though, as I wasn't in a good position to see everything.

Unfortunately I can, particularly the latter.

I turned up to the Maggos practice match and Chambers looked as lost as usual. Benny did some nice things which was mixed up with the usual brain explosions. They should remain there for the forseeable future.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC
