Correct. Davis better hurry up and get some compromising photos of Roos.

From what I've read lately, I am starting to lean towards the idea that Davis should have been dropped.

Team rules should apply to everyone.

Having said that, Roos just doesn't learn.
Roos is turning this situation into an Acka Vs Lions type thing by constantly responding to questions posed by the media.

Not fair that the coaching staff can say what they like about Davis and he is in deep @@@@ if he defends himself.

I know that's how this situation was inflamed at the start, but since then Davis has been fairly quiet on the issue.

If he has half a clue, he will shut up and look like the good gut by saying nothing.

Then Roos looks like a hypocrite and Davis will hold more cards in the way the media will define how "Roos treated Davis"

Personally it makes me sad that Roos is being so childish, especially when he appears to be contradicting the team rules himself.

But jeez, more talk of people wanting Roos' head.....

Seriously, he brought us a flag.
He can do what the hell he likes.
If he wants to look like a sooky la la, then that's his choice.
If he wants to lose respect from fans, then that's also his choice.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

Roos is a media darling in Sydney and the rest of the country for that matter.

The media laps up everything Roos says, hence the fact they haven't pinned him for his hypocritical statements over the Davis issue.

I can picture the smug smirk on his face as he said "we haven't banned him from speaking to the media".

Roos is effectively now trying to pretend the team rules thing never applied and that it is all down to poor form and fitness.

As Davo himself said, he kicked 4 goals against Freo.... hardly bad form. Hall couldn't kick straight for 2 weeks. Clearly its one rule for the leadership group and one for everyone else.

I'll trust the coaches AND the team leaders on this one; they have the runs on the board. Yes, I want Davis back too, but if there's stuff we haven't heard, how can we judge? Roos' media comments seem measured to me, not over the top, and Nick himself seems to have accepted it and moved on. As we might do.
As for Kirk, he's been out of form but seems to me to be working his way back into touch. He isn't yet at last year's level, but then he's not alone in that, and I think in the meantime he's earned a bit of slack from the rest of us.
Willo stayed on one season too long, and it would have been good if the coaching staff had told him so.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Its obvious, Paul Roos doesn't like Nick Davis (can't control him and the arrogant Roos can't handle that) Kirk doesn't like him, his done something to Barry Hall thats put him offside.

                  The guy kicked kicks
4 friggen goals against freo, leads like a homeless person running after food each game yet its his fitness and form?

I know that Sydneysiders are still daft when it comes to rules and Mr Roos thinks he can fool the sydney people, but gees the majority of the swans fans know a lot more about footy than Mr Patronising Roos thinks.

Sorry I lost respect in "our premiership" coach the moment i read that his ambition is to coach the lions. I know he loves them and has based our team structure around the lions.

Why doesnt he f off already.

Oh and those who think Roos is not arrogant think again. I once asked him to sign my ball and he walked straight passed me and ignored me.

Was in the paper a few months ago. He basically said that one day he wants to coach the lions and that he will not stay around at the swans for too long.

He was hinting at around 2008 onwards.

Anyone else want to back this up??

No. Would be fascinated to see your source. I have read quotes on several occasions that say he has no interest in coaching any other club - not just at the moment but ever.

It may just have been him telling the Sydney media what they wanted to hear but I've certainly never read any indication that he had his eyes on another club.

He has, however, made very clear his admiration for the Lions and what they achieved.

I can't remember that statement either, online or otherwise. Perhaps it was a quote taken out of context - to the effect that "The lions are very well run, and I would like us to be more like them", rather than any expressed wish to coach another club.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....
