i totally agree with the whole breaking his spirit thing .... if he's playing really well and still not getting game time how long is it until he doesn't want to play for us anymore? stop punishing him and just let a good player play!

I wonder how many of the hysterical bring back Nick mob have actually watched and assessed his form in the two?s. I watched him 2 weeks ago at the SCG. Yes he got plenty of touches. Yes, he looked a class above those around him. BUT ? I still gave him a 0/10 for effort once he had failed to win a contest. Chase opposition defenders, couldn?t be bothered. Despite the noises being made to the media it seems I?m not the only one who has noted this. Roos delivered our first premiership since 1933 and multiple idiots here think they know better than him. IMO - very good coach, ordinary human being. Playing favourites will only get him so far. It is not healthy for the club. But then he can walk away, say he 'never wanted to be a career coach', and leave the club, and the fans that have been fans since before he had anything to do with the club, with a mess. That you continue to make these remarks is disgraceful. If you're so sure of yourself, and clearly you must be because you say it so often, come out from behind your computer, make an appointment with Paul Roos and tell him this to his face. Go on, dare you.

Will people just take a long breath and just settle down for a moment. There's no obvious player in the current team to drop (esp. in the forward line) at the moment. If there was, Nick would most probably be playing. He's not out of the finals contention. He's most likely to get selected next week, but a weak link in the current team must reveal itself.

I think Roos has had an epiphany mid-season and won't carry the old crew automatically, unless it's obvious that their form will be better than the newbies in the firsts. I believe this includes Matthews, Davis and Crouch. Results have proved him correct. It was the shake up the team needed.

If the current team's winning and the juniors are playing well, that's great for the club. Sending a message to the juniors (the future of our club) that if you keep playing well, we'll support you is more important than - you automatically have to make way for a ex-senior.

Matthews, Crouch and Davis are not in our top 10 and therefore must fight for a place like the rest.

Look for Davis in next week if Grundy has a below than average game. Other than that - there's little chance of changes if our form remains stable.

although i'm disappointed not to see nicky D back in the team, i'll back roosy's decision all the way - we don't know what goes on behind closed doors

plus i don't see what bagging bevan has to do with this - he's our small defender at the moment and will be needed to play on the didak's and sampi's of the comp , especially with crouch not there

and on bevan's role in the GF - he kept sampi quiet for the majority which is his job

Hallelujah - someone else who can see the value that Bevan brings to this team - maybe Nico and others can make an effort to see what he does right rather than criticise him ad nauseum for every mis-kick and HTB that they imagine he makes.

I don't know what all the hysteria is about Nick Davis. He is a bighead and full of himself. Who can forget his pre season comments to the media about him winning the Brownlow this year! He is often lazy and doesn't chase. He is not known for his second efforts although to be fair he does from time to time make big efforts. Just not often enough. He is not a high mark and is usually a low possession winner that just happens to be an excellent kick for goal. However even his goal kicking dropped off this season. When he is not kicking goals he isn't worth a spot.

He has apparently turned quite a few of his team mates off him for some reason we are not tols about. So much so that before he was dropped it appeared his team mates were avoiding him.

It is too easy to blame the coach for Nick's shortcomings.

To win his spot back who should he replace? Nick is a half forward so Grundy is the logical one to go. But will Nick do more than Grundy? The selectors don't think so. No good dropping Bevan as Nick has no track record as a tagging backman. Similar story re dropping a wingman or back flanker.

I have complete faith in the coach and selectors. Nick will get back when someone is injured or drops off in form. That is the way it should be IMO. He might think twice before he lowers his training and playing intensity next time.

Fair comments Rastus except for the low possie thing. When he's played exclusively on the forward line he generally turns in a game of about 12 possessions and a couple of goals which is respectable for someone in starvation corner. I don't see MOL doing much better. Grundy turned out 2 goals and 6 touches in 90+ minutes of footy on the back of another very poor match in his second outing. I don't think stats come into it, obviously Roos is happier with other players for his own reasons which he's entitled to. And I would be surprised if Davis couldn't have turned in some half decent performances against some of the recent opposition. As for Bevan keeping Sampi quiet, it wasn't that challenging given the form Sampi was in towards the end of last season and for much of this year. He was lucky to get half a dozen touches most games.
