Swans have offered the hawks a 3rd draft pick for spida, but the hawks saud that there is a better offer on the table.Paul Roos said.....
It looks as if spida will end up in the pre season draft.
Uum i wonder what will happen then.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

no one is untradable in AFL..

Would you refuse a trade of Judd for Bolten , if WC are dumb enough to offer it?

my point is that all players have their set values, the whole point of the trade week is to get better players than what we already have.

        just my 2 cent

Grant Thomas insisted the Everitt would never be welcomed back to St Kilda while he was there.
Now Thomas gets a lot of flack, but I think he did an amazing job at St Kilda. He turned the worst culture in football around, and got them as far as a preliminary final. He is very clever, but his weakness was not football related, it was his desire to control everything which may have been necessary to change the saints culture, and utlimately, we has undoing. Cause no man can do it all on his own.

So when Thomas says "no everitt", I think its worth listening too.

You are right, but who would we give up Bolton for? Bolton is hard at it, courageous and fits in well with the Swans style of play. There aren't many other players in the league with the same attributes as Jude that would leave their current club to come to the Swans.

              Trade Week Miss!

The Swans quite rightly are concentrating on strengthening the Ruck division with the possible trade/drafting of Peter Everitt. My only concern with this would be that we concentrate so much on this matter that we overlook or miss out on other possible opportunities.

Whilst we hold our third draft pick on a possible trade with Hawthorn, could we possibly use this to pick up another disgruntled player? Or perhaps are we missing the opportunity to strengthen other perceived weak areas of the team - eg. running midfielders or another tall defender such as Polak.

I trust that our trade team are professional and will not let the Everitt trade consume all their energies all week to the detriment of other possible trades.

Given that Tarrant is all but ruled out and the Swans have said they won't trade their first two picks (though they could soften yet on their round 2) nor any premiership players, unless something unexpected comes up you'd think the only other trades they could be involved in would be marginal.

On a different - but related - point...The fact that they've offered the third round pick for Everitt indicates that they aren't interested in Williams under the FS rule, or that Williams has indicated that he's not interested in committing to Sydney.

                    A Bummers mate has just told me that the club is looking to delist and also have not offered new contracts to the following;

Dean Solomon, Jason Johnson, Mark Bolton, Aaron Henneman, Joel Reynolds and there is (I can't believe it) talk of Adam McPhee as well.....

I'd be jumping on McPhee for sure, and there would or should be some interest in Solomon and Jason Johnson.

IMO a fast midfielder and Polak are more important than Spida.

I have to disagree with you on most of this. Thomas played Barry Hall in defence and then let him go to the Swans. No further explaination needed there.

So he got rid of a few players who weren't going to contribute long term anyway. he had alot of players who were very young and straight out of the draft. They didn't have the "culture" problem.

I would attribute alot of Koszi's injury problems to him continuously beiong played whilst injured.

A control freak who was given enough rope to hang himself.

Compared to the next coach (Longmire), I think Thomas' coaching ability will be put in its correct light.

Thomas was a dill and got rid of Everitt because he knew he wouldn't be able to control him. If we don't get him he'll be back at the Saints. Salary cap and contract length the only impediment to them.

We should go for Joel Reynolds. It will be good to hear Sandy Roberts saying "Joel! Joel!, give us a goal!"

Seriously McPhee would be alright if he could retain his old form.

Sheeds letting McPhee go? I think that's some very wishful thinking...
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

I'd be jumping on McPhee (it's a litle hard to believe)...Always been a fan and he'd look good in red and white. He is the hardest worker in that essendon lineup and would suit the Blood ethos.

McPhee is being considered as a possible trade? that seems unlikely, and i hate speculation lol, but if this scenario does occur i'd hope Sydney would be there ready to swoop, he'd be a welcome addiction to our backline, and he'd free up Leo.
