Pay TV Deal completed - to be announced Monday...?

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Not in the slightest, hence why I said it was a poor argument. Your logic is very strange...

No @@@@ sherlock!!!
You've only figured that out now?????
Jesus H Christ.
Seriously, for me - there's plenty to see on FTA ... I don't need to spend more time indoors in front of the tele, which is another reason why I haven't got foxtel. For me, it's all a jip.
If you think otherwise, you are entitled to that opinion and I'm not damning you for it (I've said a dozen times, if you want to pay for TV, kudos to you) ... yet you seem to be damning me for my opinion cause it doesn't bode well with you. You seem to do that a bit, don't you? Go figure!!

Layby has already commented on the last bit - probably 'sit' would be a better choice for you.
Sure you don't want to have Foxtel and that is your right to choose not to. However, you seem to want to tell everyone about how crap it is - I just wanted to point out that you're mistaken in your arguments.
I do plenty of other things besides watching TV, however I spend as much time watching Foxtel as FTA. There are plenty of shows to watch, particularly during those quiet periods where there is garbage on FTA and you're too tired to do much but watch TV.

People paying for tv has a cancerous effect. It drags more and more programs onto paytv meaning that I am more likely to have to pay a surcharge to see what I used to see on FTA for free.
I will grit my teeth through those intolerable ads between goals thanks.

So what you're saying is it's ok for you to say how fabulous it is, but it's not ok for me to say it's crap (with reason, no less). We are discussing foxtel - so my opinion IS valid.
Very typical of you.

If you'd simply left it at you choose not to have it as you don't feel you'd watch it, I'd say fine - your choice. However, you constantly go on and on about how crap it is and the reasons you give are wrong - I am just pointing that out.

Of course my reasons are wrong ... TO YOU.
They are right for me (and that's the most important thing at the end of the day really, isn't it?).
Like a few others on this site, you really can't handle it when someone has a differing opinion to yours. You really should learn to accept that people are going to disagree with you and get on with your life.

Originally posted by hammo It's also worth noting that shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Sex in the City are products of US cable TV and in Curb's case is well supported by Foxtel.

You're entitled to your opinion but that doesn't mean it is valid. As has been pointed out your main argument against Foxtel is flawed.

No - I really have no problem at all if someone has a different view. I enjoy a good debate. However, if the other person continues to make the same comments that are wrong then it is not so interesting and rather frustrating.
You said that Foxtel is full of ads - that's not true.
You then said that some ads are good.
You said that Foxtel is full of re-runs - that's also not true.
If I can't find something to watch on FTA I don't need to "get a life".
That you would prefer to watch just FTA or not watch TV is fine. I am not challenging those particular views - just your wrong ones above.
