Ch7/10 will play all games on FTA ... albeit not live, but they will be played. I'm used to getting my footy after midnight, and if that's when they have to play it ... I'll be up watching.

BTW ... anyone seen the new "Footy's Back on 7" ad?

Item on Foxsports own homepage now..saying that they have re entered the tv rights deal..more to come, but looks like they want 4 games a week!

Foxtel can get nicked ... they're getting desperate now. Why else would you start up negotiations again with just over two months to go?
Ch7/10 should up the price on them, see how desperate they really are.
All games should be available FTA.

So that 7/10 get nothing as a result? I would hazard a guess that if Foxtel can make a reasonable bid, 7/10 would much prefer to accept it. They get some of their investment back and more importantly don't have to go head to head in a potentially over-saturated football market where the net result is the two channels cannibalising each others ratings.

The way negotiations have progressed thus far suggest to me that Ch7/10 are willing to absorb the extra $$'s. They want a minimum $55 mil or nothing. It's their right to demand it.

I prefer FTA TV over pay ... I can't justify paying for commericals. If the collapse of a deal with Fox means that I get 8 games FTA ... go the collapse!!

Victorian viewers will be shafted again, only 4 games free to air, that sucks. I am never going to see the Swans on TV if this goes through.
