A very convincing win for Sydney. ..... Sydney should be really confident in taking down a form-plagued Eagles lineup with the likelihood of Judd out and Cousins still in doubt but with Kerr back. I'm expecting a much better performance from our boys next week than in Round 1.
Amazing as it may seem, if we beat the eagles next week, we will move ahead of them on the ladder !

Solid win, although not brilliant. Some good signs. Hopefully good for their confidence. Nice to see the game open up.

Throughout the game I was wondering how many we needed to make it into the 8. Was livid with the Swans for conceding some very soft goals with the percentage booster in mind. Imo lucky to get away with that first quarter, had it not been Carlton.

Our first quarter efforts have generally been poor this season and I think we've only won 1 1st quarter in the last 5 or 6 games and that was by 3 points against Freo. If we play an awesome first quarter reminiscent to Port's against West Coast we'll most likely win but if we struggle again to get a score on the board early, we'll have to play catch-up footy and against the Eagles at Subi it'll be tough to win.

Good win for the Swans today.

Only downside to the match for me was having to pay for parking at Goulburn Street + Bus Fare. Now I'm out of pocket $10 because of it. If they keep it up it'll be a nice little bonus GS makes. Ugh.

Horrible start, but I never felt the result was in any doubt. Playing with no ruckman Carlton really stood no chance. By the end of the game they were incredibly poor at manning up and it was a easy canter. Interesting that we kicked 25 goals and none of our major forwards Hall, O'Loughlin or O'Keefe were dominant.

How awful was that first quarter? Seriously bad.

Thank god it got better. Amazing how when the other side plays attacking footy that the Swans can play that way too. Some of the kicking into the forward line was exquisite today - EXCEPT whenever we passed to poor old BBBH. Still, I doubt he's ever played that badly and scored 4 goals.

Spida, Schneider, Goodes & ROK best for me. Ablett towelled by Scotland, Kennelly done by Lappin - love a player like Scotland in our side.

A fairly clinical performance although I'm a bit disappointed we conceded as many goals as we did.

As far as positives go I thought out midfield was on fire - Jude, Ablett and Fosdike got plenty of clearances and there was some excellent delivery into the forward line for a change. Some of Fossy's passes in particular were sublime.

Not sure what they'll do with Hall next week but Grundy was very good in the reserves - kicking 7 and some very strong contested marks. I don't think we'd lose much if he played next week in Hall's place.

Goodes looked awesome today and is running into some very nice form.

Agree, but with the Blues playing so many players in front of the ball and with such a small ground it's pretty tough to defend when they do get a rebound. I thought it was to the Swans' credit they didn't respond by putting a player back.

With good reason, too- he had a field day! Even though he did not seem to have an opponent for much of it, he kicked two lovely goals. Sorry you couldn't bring yourself to watch it!

Start was horrible but it was an anomaly given the way the rest of the game went. Kicking 25 goals was very pleasing, it was nice to be able to relax in the last quarter even though it was only Carlton. They will need to play a lot better next week to beat even an out-of-form West Coast, though.

I thought Fosdike was very good, particularly early when it mattered, and it was probably J Bolton's best game for the year. Ablett was just ordinary.

Hall is just about in career-worst form.

I thought Ablett was pretty ordinary. He may have got some clearances but they were junk kicks to nowhere. His second efforts were non existent. Refused to chase and looks unfit to me. Scotland gave him a hiding.
