We really should win this by 5 goals. Whether we do or not is another issue...
Can the Swans really beat Collingwood?

I'm definitely in the "hopeful but not confident" category. Having sat through the two worst Swans performances of the year against Saturday night's foe, I can't start to persuade myself that we deserve to be favourites.
And I remember going down to the MCG for the Saints 2004 SF feeling reasonably confident that we should win, only to be bitterly disappointed a few hours later.Comment

This Collingwood team has played plenty of games in front of big crowds, we can't rely on them getting the wobbles, we will have to shake them as hard as we can and not let up for 4 quarters.Comment

spot on we have to play the 4 quarters- thats what worries me. There will be 60000 black & white maggots in the crowd that willl mean the pies will be more then up for it. If we can reproduce a first half like on Sunday then we might blast them out of the game, but otherwise we have to play 4 solid quarters of footy. And we havent done that this year very often, but you never know! I think we are going to win, but I always have a bad feeling for matches against the pies- but we will step up being Finals as we know what it is like to win a flag and to come so close to a second, and if we are ever going to put 4 quarters together this year it will happen on Saturday night."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

The key difference IMO between a fortnight ago and this Saturday is our backline. We have Leo and LRT back which frees up our other 3rd and 4th backman. It will make a significant difference.Comment

I'm confident that if we are awake at bouncedown we will give it a good shake and come up with the win.
We need to be fit and firing for week 2 in PortComment

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Back Six Goes Forward
With the backline starting to resemble it's old self,Collingwon't will face a far different team.
The matchup's won't be as easy for them and we should produce more drive into the forwards.
Providing our forwards offer plenty of options,I remain more optiistic about this game tham when we last played them.Comment

Yes, losing Williams and Mathews were big factors, but so was the fact we played like crap (as we did the next time we met).Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

It was because our banner didn't hold up to the weather long enough for them to run through it. Cheer squad let us down in 2004 as far as I'm concerned.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment
