Jack showed some speed and ability to break lines in his appearances I thought. Maybe some more time in the middle for him?Comment

i think a massive shakeup make every player work for their place in the side, even the veterans should have to be measured against the young guys as well, that way we would end up with the best team, when a player is out of form or injured like barry hall then drop them regardless of their past performances instead of playing them time and time again when its obvious that they are not the answer to winning a matchComment

Highlights/achievements: Prolific possession winner with very good evasive skills, strong overhead for his size and smart around goals. Uses ball very well and good in traffic. Vic Country U18 representative this year. Played 16 games for the Falcons this year averaging 22 disposals and kicking 32 goals. From Warrnambool FC.Comment

Impossible to name a line-up at this stage, but I think you can split the defenders, midfielders and forwards into the following 4 categories for next year:
(I have included the rookies that I think will be elevated in Brennan, Barlow and Jack. Also the international rookie in Irish Murphy and Bird who will be drafted).
Core - Will play if fit
Transition - To be assesed on form at the start of the year
New - Want to see them play seniors before round 11
Development - Still more time in reserves, but depending on form and development could be in the side later in the year
Defenders
Core - C Bolton, LRT, Kennelly, Barlow, Dempster, Richards
Transition - Barry, Crouch, Matthews, Bevan, Brennan
New - Laidlaw, Jack, Brabazon
Development - Irish Murphy and anything we can get our hands on in the draft
Midfielders
Core - Jolly, Everitt, Goodes, Kirk, Ablett, Malceski, Fosdike, Schmidt
Transition - J Bolton, Buchanan, Doyle
New - Moore, D O'Keefe, Thornton
Development - Bird, Simpkin, Rowe, Currie
Forwards
Core - Hall, O'Loughlin, R O'Keefe, Davis, Scheinder, McVeigh
Transition - Vogels, Grundy
New - White
Development - Anything new can get our hands on in the draft
That gives us 42 (not including Bird), with one of those (Irish Murphy) an international rookie and O'Loughlin & Barry to be moved to veteran status.
On my calculations (and they are not very good) that leaves us with 39, needing to cut 4 and draft 3 (of which Bird will be our last pick) to get back to 38?
Faulks looks to one of the three, but I can't see another obvious younger player who will be cut so the last two delistings or trade will probably come from the transition grouping.
The above analysis would suggest that we will target a key defender and forward with our first two picks, with a trade for a quicker midfielder simply a player trade or our second round pick thrown in as well which is likely due to skinny draft this year.
While this side is a bit experimental, it would be exciting to see this 22 come out round 1 in 2008.
B: LRT C Bolton Crouch
HB: Kennelly Barlow Laidlaw
C: Fosdike Kirk Malceski
HF: O'Keefe Hall Scheinder
FF: McVeigh O'Loughlin Davis
R: Everitt Goodes Schmidt
I: Richards, Barry, Jolly, Buchanan
My sole objective was to get as much pace into the side as possible, without losing it's hardness at the ball or flexibilty. Although I am not sure if Barry would be on the bench over say a Thornton?
New from Saturday night is the returning Kennelly, Laidlaw, Schmidt, Buchanan and possibly Thornton for balance over Barry.

DOK is not particularly quick by foot. Wiseby (who some like, some loathe but who certainly watches a lot of underage footy) described his pace as "borderline adequate" for his size and role. And nothing I've seen from DOK this year suggests that description isn't spot on.
He's been injured so much (and looked like he was playing sore even when he was on the paddock) that it's been hard to get much of an idea of what kind of player he might become.
But one thing he has shown glimpses of is very clean hands picking the ball off the ground. I reckon that's far more important for midfielders than footspeed (unless a player is an out and out receiver). How many times do you see the likes of Fosdike, Crouch and Bolton (the three worsts fumblers in the Swans' midfield IMO) get to a loose ball first but then lose their advantage because they can't pick it up cleanly? People marvel at the footspeed of the Eagles' trio but I think it's their clean ball handling that is the reason they're so good (and it makes them look quicker too).Comment
