I had hoped that Mike Fitzpatrick would have pulled the big "A's" into line as he's quite a smart bloke (and was a bit of awright in his playing days along with Mark McClure - but I digress! ) - but I've yet to see him pull in their reins.
He's a blood sucking lawyer who's knowledge of football is claimed to be from playing amateurs (VAFA) on the weekends. I don't have a problem with his lack of footy knowledge per se. I have a problem he is a @@@@ing jerk who makes stupid decisions that blow up in his face.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

But what about Little Adie, anyone have any knowledge of his background.

Has he ever played a game, at any level?

Would be good to know - as this clown is likely to take over from Dimwit.

I believe Roosey should look into running for the big chair (after he finishes at the Swans)- at least he knows about the game.
Little Adie played in the Victorian Amateurs for one of the private university teams. I am pretty sure they are first grade but still a long way from the comp he works for. He was still playing after being appointed in his job but had to retire due to time restraints.....the game has never been the same since.

Paul Roos to face AFL investigation - Breaking News - Sport - Breaking News

Has anyone seen this article yet?

If Roos gets an indiffenate suspension, then things can get really ugly.

I suspect the Swans lawyers are getting ready to defend the Swans if the worst case scenario pans out.

Roos succinctly and correctly identifies that the issue is the AFL permitting gambling on a competition which is not really a competition, rather than the fact he had good reasons for not wanting to win the game.

They're using the same lawyer that got Blind Barry free to play in the 2005 granny.
We'll be right. The AFL world know it's just a gee-up.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

When Roos gets off this crock of @@@@, I want to see him sue the pants off the AFL for defamation of character.

I don't understand, however, why when someone is reported in the AFL, why they have "allegedly" done something, when with Roos, they are all, (the AFL and the press) saying he "was heard to say", not "he was allegedly heard to say". Isn't there something wrong with this?

More nonsense from Mike Sheahan here:

I think he would prefer all teams to behave like Carlton and win the pre-season cup and then run last for the premiership.
We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty.

As somebody else pointed out previously, betting is a big problem here, because AFL is definitely getting some money from the betting agencies. If there is a shadow of the doubt that somebody is throwing a game than AFL must investigate or facing the possibility to be sued by the betting agencies for possible loss of revenue. We'll just have to wait and see what pans out If Carlton got away with it, hopefully, we can as well. On the other hand, if AFL pursues this to the bitter end and Roos gets suspended than we should you use our ultimate weapon to make sure that the second team in Sydney never happens.

I hope we fight those wankers and stop them from bringing in the West Sydney team.

On a day when interests rates rise, wouldn't financial natural selection come into effect for anyone anywhere who would bet on Sydney winning a NAB Cup game? Even with the odds you could have got on the Swans being close to winning and McVeigh to kick the winning goal - or any goal it couldn't be worth it.

Perhaps I missed a critical element in marketing but why would you employ someone who says "I'm going to give Sydney a new team for an alien sport but will keep it hidden from anyone who lives there and already has an interest in AFL. Then I'll announce the plans for the new team to embarrass and alienate the existing team and its supporters. I'm going to then maximise publicity for an incident for which the AFL should be ashamed, and make sure that everyone knows that the games they watch on TV (immediately after we say we're heading to Western Sydney) are for a Mickey Mouse competition where all the coaches and players admit they don't care about winning and will select teams to lose - but we let the great unwashed bet anyway and take our cut. Oh, we'll cover up when a Melbourne team deliberately loses in the main competition to gain an advantage in years to come but we'll crucify the face of AFL in Sydney for not pretending to take these warm-up games seriously. But you're welcome to give us millions for a new Sydney AFL team because it's a national sport - as long as Victoria is treated as its spiritual home. Why are you walking away? Bloody parochial Sydneysider."

I want to write to the AFL, but do you think anybody can give me their address.
