Both crucified by the Umps, but it has a little to do with the constant abuse that both gave the umps! The umps certainly did not like either player too much.

I like Bazza's column today. One of those 'I never read what people say' things where he goes on to list every criticism made in the last week. And answer them.

Still he has a point. Blake has psychoanalysed him, "mental scars" FFS, from over the fence, hasn't bothered to interview Big Beamish and then uses an assertion of rule changes to claim he is obsolete. Fair go, the big bloke is battling to get a contract and this smart arse, on the basis of pop psychology has rewritten some scribbles off the beer coaster of the Journo's Club and ripped out a few lazy hundred words to pronounce the career of a great player over. The headline should have read "Hall Victim of Media Beat Up" I personally think this will be his last season and more the pity for that. But the issue deserves better than the stinking dead cat thrown over the back fence effort of Blake.

When professions get rated, journalists fare very badly usually equated as having the ethics of used care dealers (or camel dealers in Arabia). In world ratings Australia rates near the bottom of journalistic credibility.Blakes article is complete speculation and headline grabbing crap.I totally agree with your post and think there should be more posts like this.We let the journalists off too lightly. Someone can basically lie about our ex Captain for a couple of pages and we ignore it but poor Bevan cops 13 pages for having a bad day! Lets make these purveyors of untruths accountable.

Can't have the 2006 GF rubbish. Injuries, the rule-change and getting older are the reasons that he is not the player that he once was.

He was our best player in last year's finals series. Didn't look too affected by the GF loss to me.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I hate playing any sport with people like this, as it destroys team morale, and alot of time is spent building up your teammates confidence after it's torn away by people like this.

Where's the Baz who needlessly gave away the Coleman to prove his commitment to the team?
This was very obviously addressed by the coaching staff/leadship group for the weekends game.

There were a few times in the first quarter when Hall threatened to turn into the Incredible Hulk (RAGE BUILDING>>>!!!), but Goodes and Kirk got to him and talked him down.

There was one instance early on where he started to admonish players further upfield for not kicking to his lead. Goodes got to him and told him (in a somewhat agressive way - handsignals included) to go around, lead again and not be a tool.

Everytime he did something good or bad Kirk was in his ear.

Great leadership, great teamwork. We all saw the results.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Good game, but further consistency is certainly required. Journalism isn't his go, never read his column or the column of any current player.

Interesting that he needed the leaders to keep his temper under control.
He needs to repeat the effort against Port.
