I watched him last year ... at training this year ... and in Round one ... and BBBH would be dragged in my local suburban side for dropping all those easy chest marks ... regardless of who he is ... as Kevin SHeedy once told me "Never try to mark on your chest (as the defender can punch it away) ... take it out in front of your eyes"

In my view, Barry just doesn't seem to watch the ball closely enough & hence that is why he drops the ball so often. Coaching staff have had over a year to fix this problem because he obviously has the talent.
See me run a marathon again as a leprechaun?

Leaving aside his poor kicking, dropping of simple marks, etc, etc...

HE BEHAVES LIKE A CHILD THROWING TOYS OUT OF A COT!!!

So given he acts with such agression towards the umpires, it is no wonder they penalise him for anything that looks remotely like an infringement, and opponents virtually have to whack him with a baseball bat before he will get a free kick.

This is adding to his poor form and causing unecessary turnovers and lost opportunities for us.

At the moment he is a liability, costing us close games.

Combined with #19 who is slow (e.g. on the lead and hence easily spoiled), and rarely gets the ball in dangerous positions (because he nearly always leads to the boundary line), we have major problems with our so-called star forwards.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Most supporters will be forever grateful for the contribution of Hall and Roos to the history of the club. However this does not and should not immune them from criticism.

On Hall, I agree we should give him time to turn around his form. I think the fact that he had a poor 2007 and a poor start to 2008 gives rise to the opinion that Halls career may be at the crossroads. He is dropping marks that a player of his stature should never ever drop. I hope he does turn it around because in full flight he is a pleasure to watch.

Strewth, last year that performance would've been one of his best. 2005 Barry seems a long way away but I'mhopeful he still has a role to play.

Yeah i'm not saying they should be immune but heck it's the same contempt by the same posters who harp on about the same things. After it while it stops being merely criticisms and just negative contempt.

Physically he looked pretty good out there. (Though a decent tan, for him, together with what looked like a recently shaved dome makes him look a bit odd!!)

I think he was trying too hard. And until he has a game when things go right for him in the way they used to, he is likely to keep trying too hard and lose his cool / muck up the simple things.

I suspect a lot of this has to do with last year's problems. From what he's said - and refused to say - in the media about a 2006 GF performance that wasn't as completely woeful as some would have you believe, it sounds like he takes his own performance to heart.

I don't think we can tell anything from one game, especially one in which his team played like rubbish.

Most of all, I hope he finds a way to enjoy his footy in his twilight year or years. He didn't look like he was having much fun out there on Saturday night. Whether it's through refinding something approaching his 2004-6 form, or just accepting he can still be valuable as a lesser player, him enjoying it is bound to make him more relaxed and a better player than the angry version.

But on another level, it is easy to understand him getting frustrated. Not only did he have his head ripped off in one contest, a few moments later he received a solid push with two hands in his back - a clear free even under the old HITB interpretation -while the umpies called play-on.

Looked a hell of a lot fitter than he did last year. Yeah missed a cple of marks and goals he should of got but suspect it's just a bit of match fitness more than anything else. Give him a cple of weeks before throwing the blades in.

Too early to make a definitive call.

I thought he moved better than last year. He looks like he's trying way too hard, and as a result dropping those easy marks. I just think he needs a bit of luck - I reckon one blinder could completely turn his form around. He's horribly down on confidence it would appear.

Give the man a few weeks to produce FFS.

It seems like it's the same @@@@heads every year writing off the Swans after 30 seconds. If all employers doubted their employees after such a short time frame, most of Australia would be out of a job.
Hey, someone asked the question, We are just giving our opinion. Sure he takes the best backman... But jeeeeze when he gets in front he drops the bloody thing. Maybe, just Maybe he is less skilful than some have given him credit for. AND its jut an opinion

Agree with others too early to call ... the same topic could have been started for MOL... I though BBB gave us much more than MOL on the night.

The umps missed that obvious over the shoulder and you could tell he was becoming frustrated, lets see after 5 - 6 rounds.

                          Cheers

Too early at the moment but if he doesn't get any better soon, he should stick to boxing.

He's still got plenty to offer. I agree he needs a breakout game where things fall his way, then we might see a bit more of the old BBB. In the meantime
he can take the best defender, and one other, out to the flanks creating a bit more space in the forward 50 for others to work in....Obviously our ordinary midfield need to look for other options when kicking into the forward 50.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

The real reason for Hall's performance is that he is jealous of Adam Goodes. There's Adam going out with Laura Csortan, totally stuffed by the time he plays (using words carefully here) on the field and poor old Bazza with a melon that only his Mother would love.

It would be tough. I know this because I'm an expert on RWO and I categorically know that the Swans are finished for this year!
                                They lost last week.
