this thread is right up there.

FFS it's only round 1 and i think the answer to a very silly question should be the obvious:

It's not Barry Halls fault our delivery to him is a atrocious!

Seriously it's only round 1 and he has just recovered from a groin injury. Very restrictive and takes a while to over come. Just ask Chris Judd.
Yeah, like it's only this round that he's struggled. He was simply brilliant in 2007. Having a whole preseason to get himself right and get is act together means nothing. Just look at how forwards like Jonathan Brown, Anthony Rocca and Buddy Franklin are struggling after the break.

And of course, even intimating that he failing given his age, injuries and lack of discipline is a terrible crime against the club and deserves opprobrium.

....seriously, has he got in you a headlock or something?
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Could you do better? Have you ever had hamstring injuries. It's painful, just ask champions like Nathan Buckley. You come on here to put crap on Heath James and try to boost your online ego. Heath James was widely considered to be highly courageous by everyone in the inner circle. A true Swans fan would know that. Go back to Centrelink and cheque your spelling.

umm no..i am just trying to figure out why such hysterics after round 1 and why such hate from a small section?

it's only round 1..as most reasonable posters have said lets wait until round 4-6 to pass judgment shall we. If he continues to play the way he has then yes i will agree it's time for action!

Jonathon Brown is a power forward. His size alone makes him intimidating. Have you seen the size of this guys neck! I have stood next to him in real life and god good this guy is just scary!

Anthony Rocca - ok played one good game in 5 years.

Buddy Franklin - oh come on it was the deemons and plus how old is Buddy again?

But he was @@@@ all the way through 2007. It's not so much that he was crap on Saturday, it was the way he was crap. Sure he moved more freely, but he still dropped marks, missed goals and generally was completely all over the place. Put it this way, I don't think it is his groin which is the problem, it is his feet eyes and hands. He was never a great mark, but he was 'goodish'. That appears to be totally gone (particularly in night games, I am convinced he cannot see the ball properly). Then there is the possibility that he never recovered from the 2006 grand final, which was a sad day for him. Actually, basically, he's played that game out repeatedly since then!

All the signs are there for Hall. I don't think this thread is hysterical. I think it is an opportune time to ask an important question. I think the answer is that he is no longer a realistic option for full forward and he needs to change the way he is playing if he going to play effectively at CHF. Basically, that means a lot of running and running wide to allow others space.

I agree with most points you have to say and i would say that 2006 has really messed him up. I don't know how hard it would be for a player who missed such easy shots in a gf that we lost by a point. But as i said i willing to give him 1 more chance and pass judgment in a few weeks.

Plus he isn't a 26 year old no more. yes stating the obvious i know but it seems people don't realise that when you enter your 30's your body starts breaking down and things which might have seem easy a few years back start to abandon you.

If he has only kicked 4 goals by round 4 and is doing the same stupid things then yeah it's time to start preparing his retirement party.

But for now it's only round 1.

I hope I'm wrong about him.

But it's not just because of Saturday nights game, he was ordinary for pretty much the whole of 2007 aswell.

There's no doubting he's been a great player for us but if he isn't performing then he shouldn't be in the side.

Arguably, Alistair Lynch had his best footy ahead of him at Hall's age.

Again a groin injury is very restrictive. Anyone who has had one would know. I copped a bad groin injury through stupidity on the soccer field and just trying to pivot left and right was freakin hard and so was trying to sprint.

Maybe Hall should take a leaf out of Geoff Blethyn who played for essendon in the early 70s with specs on!

                          I agree!

well not after round 1 when there were far worst players. I mean using some of the logic around here should we drop Goodes? Because from what i see he is playing the same way he played in the first half of last season.

He dropped marks that a bloke of his pay grade should never drop. I won't make a comment on Halls future until further into the season but the signs are not good.

Ummmmmmmm how many times do i have to say it, Hall was restricted. Take those Hall hating glasses off just for once second.

Goodes was utter rubbish on Saturday night and was beaten at one contest by a 38 year old. He was more than rubbish he was woeful. Same story as last year. He should be dropped to the 2nd..better still he is finished. He dropped an easy mark and just thumbled his way to a goal.

See how "diabolical" those comments sound after round 1.

This is just not true - did you watch Lynch play for Fitzroy?

In any case, Lynch was a better and different player than Hall in a powerful team on the ascendancy.

It is absurd to make this comparison.
