The error was picked up pretty quickly and rectified.
Fox Sports story on the fine
Swans football manager Andrew Ireland said White was "caught out" by a double interchange from North.
He followed opponent David Hale back onto the ground, unaware that team-mate Kieren Jack had already returned to the field.Comment

Yes interesting that the Western Bulldogs did the same thing in 2006
No Medja coverage
$7,500 fine
This kind of thing brings the Sydney haters/bias to the surface
You have tolove their painYou don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

Yes, I had forgotten about that, except for the end of the HS article yesterday that pointed it out.Comment

we cheated. inadvertently or otherwise. it had an impact on the game (and if it didn't what exactly were they all 19 doing on the field).
frankly we are lucky to get out with a fine and we should shut up and cop it sweet.
the amateurish approach to interchanges should now be comprehensively reviewed both at our club and in the leagueComment
-
I agree with your comment about the interchage. It is something that just shouldn't happen. If need be, they need 2 people.
Maybe they should get a better organised i/change steward. Who knows, but it does need reviewing.
As for the cheating bit, yes it was wrong and against the rules, however, White isn't even sited in that 30 odd seconds of play, so as to what impact White had on the game at that point would have to be minimal.Comment

This is the thing that annoys me the most. All other sports with interchange, as far as I know, have an official to ensure this cannot and does not happen. For the AFL not to have that in place is nothing less than amateurish. About time the fat controller gave up some of his salary to pay for professionsl interchange stewards and empower them to not allow anyone on the ground unless someone has come off first.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Brayshaw has a sook, give us the points
THE 19th player was first-gamer Jesse White and he "did not go near where the play was taking place and involve himself in the contest for the ball".
NORTH Melbourne "had the ability but chose not to call for a count pursuant to the Laws of the Game".
BOTH clubs were of the view the mistake was inadvertent.
SYDNEY acted immediately to remove the closest player once it realised it was breaking the rulesComment

well with $25000 in the kitty to go towards the AFL commision christmas party they will have the top shelf food and drinks. Hope that the caterers include several bad, but specifically placed, prawns on the canape tray that night and point them in the AD & AA direction. (I'm in a nasty nasty mood today!!!)I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

This fine is almost "You have pissed us off for long enough thanks Sydney"
Doesn't seem to fit the crime at all.Comment

I hope they remember those words when their 'not so cashed up club' inadvertently does the same thing and they cop a 50K fine as well
Goose, gander and all that.....The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

I like the fact that after the matter has been public for a couple of days, after North coach says it's not a big deal and after the AFL has made its decision, James Brayshaw declares he wants the four points. The kind of guy who'd turn down $100 million if you offered it to him.

Their whinging and moan goes from their supporters all the way up to their club. They had the chance to take the game, they chose not to. Bad luck.Comment
