That really seems like a ludicrously large fine, how the hell did they come up with it? Doesn't the team winning the grand final only get $300k?

$50k doesn't really seem grounded in reality at all. It's almost as silly as the $10k fine the NBL slapped on Jason Smith years ago.

Guess it's better then losing points. Also 25k doesn't occur for 24 months.

Myles may have to sell a few more sausages on the corporate barbecue to pay for this misdemeanour. But all I care about is that we don't lose points.

                      Let's move on, shall we?

PS:- What happens if the Swans make a $50000 loss this season? Will that be the AFL's fault?

Would Wallace have us believe that somewhere down the track a coach will INTENTIONALLY send on a 19th man, risking the whole score being erased if an on-field challenge eventuates, just because the precedent has been set and Sydney got away lightly (even though they haven't in the end).

Even if Sydney got a slap on the wrist and got sent to the corner until lunchtime, it is just ridiculous to suggest any side would use it as a deliberate tactic considering the consequences if they get caught out.
yeah so therefore you need a decent punishment so there are consequences???

Try a comma or the occasional Capital or full stop, because I don't know if you're asking a question, making a statement or WTF you're on about. Are u agreeing with me? Wallace?

I'm told (not that I have bothered researching) that it's impossible to lose points unless it is reported during the game by the captain, so I don't think that was ever an option.

I think a token fine of say $10K would have been sufficient. It was a simple mistake, no club is stupid enough to do this deliberately.

The message sent by this huge fine IMO is that we gained 2 points illegally, and I think that is beyond unfair. I guess it takes the heat of their goal umpiring department.
