Good points. You can add Nathan Ablett to the list as well. According to Connolly's logic one of their premiership heroes should be cast aside because he's a perennial adolescent.tony lockett used to drive home to ballarat or wherever all the time, didnt want to go back to the big bad vfl he did alright.
a man called gary ablett left the hawks after 6 games cos hated it went and played in the bush, he could play a little too.
Guess they were poor clubman though both changed teams didnt they.
As youngsters they couldnt handle the move from home either.
Wayne Carey wanted to leave north as a youngster too, look how that ended up, in court"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

From memory Vogels was dropped after a quiet game against the Eagles in the QF, Bevo came in for the Geelong game and kept his spot through the finals.
For a while though it looked like Vogels might get a call-up for the GF anyway!

Bevan was quiet in the Semi and Preliminary Finals, so why was he kept in again?
Roos must have an obsession as bad as Connolly's.

but Vogels didnt thats the point - even Leigh Matthews said when Bevan went up and got his medal "he's probably thinking "do I deserve this" - well I dont think he did - I can only recall him being on the field for a few minutes - mind you - nice work if you can get it!I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Roos gives Lance Thompson a massive back-hander in this article.
Clearly questioning his knowledge of the AFL system, and therefore his competence as a player manager.
I would imagine LT would be very p***ed off with Roos right now."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

I want to see Davis in the team, but obviously only if he plays by the rules.
I think he has 3-4 years left as a good footballer.
Michael O'Loughlin has 1 year after this at best. His leg speed is long-gone and it's only some creative body work and (still) amazing instincts and reactions that are allowing him to contribute.
Davis for The MOL is a much better swap than for Playfair, who add's much-needed structure to our fwd line.
I'd hate to see us trade Davis, then for The MOL to go soon after (or the same time)."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.

Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."Comment

Oops, I was more thinking of Hall-gate and who would have come in as a forward line replacement if we weren't the AFL's love child
rather than whether Bevo deserved his spot, but fair enough point!

lol! nah I blamed Hunter for that - he may not have had anything to do with it, but he was on the field and also because I'm not fond of him!
