It's more intriguing than an episode of the Whitnalls!

Swann was part of the axis of evil when Davis left Collingwood, he is just rolling out the old party line.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

So are Main and Blake (and a few here) going to complain about the delight some people appear to be taking in the fall of a Swans player?

I imagine that the managers of most players who are uncertain about their playing future with their current club get in touch with the front office of various clubs throughout the year.

A Swans player who allows himself to be shopped around to opposition clubs before we play them. Davis didn't fall. He wasn't pushed either. He threw himself out. And good riddance. The amazing thing is the attempts to excuse his unacceptable behaviour. Face it Bloods you publicly backed a mug.

You don't think it's normal for a manager to make calls through the year? Has there not been a lot of speculation that Fevola may have been in talks with Sydney, with people not so much incredulous that either side would chat about the move but more that he may leave Carlton?

Yep - he is just echoing Malthouse's line. For such a 'bad guy' it's amazing how keen Collingwood was to keep him!!

According to the Thommo media campaign Davis was committed to the club blah blah. Davis is a croc in more ways than one.

It does make sense. I mean if you have played 1 game of seniors in one year, and not many more in 2 years, and looked like getting the arse at the end of the year, you'd be pretty dirty on your manager if he wasn't putting the feelers out there.

It's more than a little hypocritical for Swann to defame Davis in that way when Brendan Fevola is on the Blues' books.

Scott i don't think there is anything wrong with feelers but this was a touch up. Did he inform the club he was making enquiries? Did he tell the club he was talking to Carlton through his management? Its the duplicity of all this that rankles.

No players tell their clubs they are talking to other clubs, unless they are using it for pay negotiations (and even then they normally do it by spreading their own rumours).

It's interesting too that Swann did to Collingwood exactly what Davis did to them, walked out.

I would love to hear what Eddie had to say about Swann. I'm tipping it would be (or was in the media at the time) about the same as what Swann was saying about Davis...."We don't want people like that at our club".

They have contracts. What Davis did (his manager is his agent and Davis is bound) is a breach of the implied terms ( and possibly the explicit terms) of his contract, unless there is an explicit term in his contract that allows his agent to negotiate with an opposition club without the club's knowledge. The Bloods should terminate Davis contract this week.

? Why would he be worried about the "party line" at Collingwood now he is at the Blues?

That plays a bit thinly to me. Sounds much more personal than that.

You're on a fishing trip here. If you want to make accusations, at least back them up with facts. Not the bull@@@@ that you often post as fact.

That is why so many people object to your posts, because you too often do that. You have no idea what is in the "year by year" contract the Davis and the club have. To make up what you think may be in it is just ridiculous.

I'll give you a tip, if you actually posted facts about how Bevan plays instead of the fanciful stuff that you post here most of the time (one example is the tangled web you caught yourself up in with who Bevan was shifted onto or was shifted onto him yesterday), people would not argue with what you have to say. I have nothing against Bevan (most of the time), but I object to the way you try to inflate his deeds on the field so that they equate to the deeds of Lockett, Skilton, Kelly and Nash combined.
