After seeing the evolution of Hawthorn, where they went for skills, skills, skills(hence the ditching of Brennan) maybe that is the way to go.

With my workplace being a designated Hawthorn school some of our "jock"teachers got to go to some closed training sessions while they were over at Hawthorn. They said the skills were phenomenal.

    Forget tall,short....go skills

Hawks' foot skills are phenomenal. The Swans' disposal efficiency, at 73%, was third worst in the league. There's a bias toward pace in our recruiting, which we definitely need, but I wish they'd recruit guys who could kick straight.

The Shaw deal is good Swans because it cost little but he joins Playfair and Brennan as recruits with a wonky boot.

Barry Hall and MOL only has 1 or 2 seasons left in him so we need a replacement when they leave we dont want to end up like the doggies, they have heaps of smalls with great skills but no talls and thats what let they down. Hawthorn have smalls with skills but have the big forward line as well.

We need a potential power forward with pick 12

Andmaybe a quick skillful player with pick 30 we need both you cant win a flag without both and we have a fair few young midfielders coming through.

Just a bump for this thread as the draft nears.

Reading up on some phantom drafts over at BF have the following kid's names thrown around for the Swans: Blease, Mckernan, Sidebottom, Johnston and even Yarran.

Realistically, who are we likely to pick?

Personally would love Sidebottom or Yarran to slip down to us as I believe the KPP we are crying out for would still be available at our second pick.

This looks an exciting draft, a real depth and quality about it. I'd be happy with any one of the above mentioned - but atm Blease would be tops, love the one handed pick up and the kid has pace to burn!

Just watched the highlights package of Blease on Youtube and he looks pretty impressive. Just what we need, Pace, Skill and an ability to finish around goals. Given a few years to bulk up and he could be a very, very good player.

Blease is a real blood-nut too

I want Johnston badly with pick 12.

Can't seem to find any of the more "respectable" phantom drats eg, Burgo & Weaver etc - are they all AFL recruiters/scouts now?

Cerainly doesn't seem to be any remote consensus on who the Swans might choose.

Most of the phantom drafts I've seen have us picking up McKernan with 12.
