Agreed he's pretty much G.O.N.E in my books but could he drag this @@@@ any more longer? I'm resigned to the fact he is gone but need confirmation so we can all move on.

It will probably drag until friday. He'll see if the Swans up the money at the last minute. If not he'll just accept what the best offer has been to him. If he goes, I'll bet it will be Carlton.

It's calming to know that Capt Bloods is in charge of this. Stewie will do his best.

AFL website is now reporting that the Swans are resigned to losing O'Keefe. Or more accurately, reading the article, that Maxfield has confirmed that O'Keefe has requested a trade but that they haven't entirely given up hope of retaining him.

I'm hoping that ROK has told them he wants to make the move to play with a contending side and is happy for the Swans to endeavour in good faith to do an acceptable deal with Hawthorn/Dogs/Pies/Blues (maybe Bombers), but if they can't get the first rounder they want or an equally good deal, they won't make the deal and ROK will stay in Sydney, rather than go to Melbourne or Perth via the PSD.

We must play hardball on this trade

An additional 1st rounder to our pick 12 is the absolute minimum in my mind

According to the sports report on the SEN 4pm news, o'keefe has officially requested to be traded, no surprise there. Hawthorn are expected to make a big play for him aswell.

I'm very disappointed, in fact devastated at the confirmation that ROK wants to go. I'd have to say I haven't felt more down since that day in 2006.

However, we now have to get something good for him, and if Hawthorn is interested, I'd be thinking 16 and Tim Boyle would be the starting point.
                      Fair to both?

For some reason, Tim Boyle does not seem an appealing trade. Admit I don't know much about him as a player.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I am hoping we would want better than pick 16, hawks will have to trade to get a lower pick then trade that to swans with a player, possibly boyle. I rekon lovett and 2nd round pick from bombers would be fair.

                            Blues say no to ROK:

                            Blues can't do O'Keefe deal

I guess it just means that they won't swap pick 6.

Pick 16 and Bea Dowler from Hawthorn should be our target.

Carlton won't trade pick 6 and Collingwood never give up anything so it's pointless to deal with them.

Essendon can only deal with Lovett and that is not an option.

So it's the Hawks all the way with their first pick and a quality young tall in Dowler (who was taken at 6 a couple of years ago).

I'm not a Boyle fan by any stretch of the imagination but I think he has more to offer than Dowler. I've seen plenty of Dowler and I don't think he is up to AFL level - thought he was taken way too high at the time.
