There is nothing more frustrating than seeing an athlete waste talent by refusing to do the hard things, Davis was one of those athletes. His career wasn't ruined by one quarter of football, it was ruined by Davo himself and his inability to WANT to regularly impose himself on the contest. Talented, absolutely no doubt. Willing absolutely not. Sadly, so endeth the career.Comment

Davo was on SEN this morning and when asked why a club should pick him up he said...because i can play.I was told by a close friend form is temporary, but class is permantent. Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I reckon he's gotta do something to talk himself up,the boy does have talent and lets face it he was hungout to dry publicly on a number of occassions by his previous employers, so I reckon good on him for putting his best foot forward. Sadly Davis didnt fit into the dull as dishwater mould that Roos wanted him to be in. (and I'm' ready for the barrage of abuse that I will get for having such an opinion - like I give a @@@@!)I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

After listening to Nick Davis today on SEN , he made me feel better knowing that he is still a high quality tosser that he always was of a bloke.
Above average footballer though lacking of quality and honesty .
I simply didnt like Nick Davis as a footballer . Thought he was lazy like alot of the footy world does.Though learned to tolerate him as he wore the jumper that I love and he played some good footy with us .
On radio today he claims :
He "Thinks" Lance has been speaking to other clubs on behalf of him and he claims he has been training 4 nights a week. I wonder where ???
Well I saw him on Sky a couple of weeks ago on "The Right Odds" and he nearly mixed him up with Richard Callender.
Form comes and goes & Class is permanant he said
Well thats Davo to a tee, no need to say anymore.
Seriously, glad wont have to pass comment on him on here ever again .
Forever grateful what he gave us in 2005 of which he was an integral part of what we achieved as a football club and he will always be a part of that.
Admired him as a footballer with great skills and great kicking action.
Though what he failed at was : the simple things of the game & the dedication of being involved within a team. He failed miserably at both.
Never really delivered on his Footy potential under 2 very good football coaches at 2 very strong football clubs.
Will he play again ??
Only Nick can tell us that.Est 1874

He also mentioned/admitted that he got dropped for poor commitment and that he lost the plot for a few weeks in the 2's, then pulled his finger out, then did his knee. No wonder he didn't get a recall before he did his knee.

He summed it up when he said "I lost sight of the bunny". But he was honest enough to say that it was his fault that he's in the position he's now found himself in. That's a start.
And remember, if we'd kept him someone else would have had to be delisted. And all hell would have broken loose on this forum about who that player would have been and how unfair it was! At least Davo brought it on himself. Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

I used to look up a Swans? website, but gave it up when I realised that reading some of this garbage made me feel as if I needed counselling.
They bag anyone and everything and seem to take particular delight in running down players they do not like for some reason or another.
In English soccer these fans are known as ?boo boys? and, until I read this website, I didn?t realise fans could eat their own.Comment

The fact that Davis isnt a "yes" man (which Roos wants) seems to be lost on some. It has even been said that Roos feels its his duty to make people, in his eye's, better people. What gives Roos the right to change anyone's personality or charachter? it seems that Davis is a pretty normal kind of bloke, with a healthy ego who just happens to be able to kick a footy better than some. But he wouldnt conform, so he had the black mark against his name and it wouldn't matter what he did, life wouldnt get any better at the Swans.
Confidence is a big thing in any profession - when you are being told by your boss and his lackies that you are not good enough, lack passion, that you have to abide by some so called "blood brothers" code, and then there are clear consessions that some players get and others dont get ( premiership credits anyone?) - surely that would get to you eventually.
As I said I hope he gets picked up by a club that appreciates what he can do,that he wont be worried about showing a bit of flair, not being curtailed in his style of play and that he doesnt have to become a clone of the rest of the team. Good luck Davo - I hope you make them eat their words.Last edited by Wardy; 23 October 2008, 07:02 AM.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
