C'mon Al, Ablett is far more suited to rugby than AFL, he hardly genuinely "has a go". He just won't let go of the footy and loves to run very slowly with it on the odd occasion he gets it. He usually gets about 2 metres before he is run down and has the awareness of a rock when it comes to players around him and how to dispose of it. He couldn't catch Christine Nixon in shackles. Credit to your boy for largely getting this out of his game and learning to get himself in a position to not get caught.

Q. So what pray tell is Luke Ablett famous for in the eyes of Swans and many other supporters?

A. A superb pass to Cousins in the goal square in the 2005 GF, to almost snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I will personally never forget his heroics in the 2005 semi final against Geelong. It is disappointing that it seems the differences between player and club are irreconcilable. There must be things in the inner sanctum that we don't know about.

Thank you for helping get us to a Grand Final Nick; actually met you on the night of the B & F in 2005 (you gave me a good tip for the races the next day!). All the best for the future.

Such a talented player that I feel didn't reach his peak for whatever reasons.

we could go round in circles for months on end about this - there are those of us in the Davis corner (a minority according to Sprite & some person in Singapore called CKJ) and there are those - a majority apparently who aren't - so be it. I cant be bothered arguing anymore.

I didn't say the Nick supporters are in the minority. Why not have poll - "hard done by" or "got what he deserved".

I am just fed up with the conspiracy theory of premiership credits, Roos' pets or Kirks disciples.

Nick was a talent wasted, that with application may have made him a champion of the game.

He will now be remembered for his one quarter of footy and a poor attitude.

the trouble with our team is we rate effort way above talent or anything else. Lrt wouldnt get a game in half the vfl sides, he cant play footy. Bevan would struggle to get into most afl sides, though he showed a bit this year but thats it.

wether davis should be on the list is another question, but our list lacks class and talent because we put "application" and "effort" above all else and they are great qualities, but geez anyone can try hard.
